About Us:
My family and I relocated from Santa Barbara to Sandpoint, Idaho in search of the ideal outdoor community and a small town feel with big town amenities. We searched ski towns all over the west coast, and fell in love with Schweitzer Mountain, Lake Pond Oreille, and most importantly the incredibly genuine and warm people of Sandpoint. Mandy and I felt there was no better place to raise our baby boy, Trace.
In addition to loving the social fabric of this community, we are big 'dog people' and the proud owners of a paraplegic pug named Molly that has been an inspiration for my wife and I. Together we founded the Molly Inspires Foundation to help people with special needs and to provide character education in schools, and to help prevent the poor dog breeding practices that lead to special needs dogs.
We believe in enjoying life and have a love for snow skiing, surfing, outrigger canoe racing, tennis, and all outdoor pursuits. I am equally passionate about my friendships, which is why the real estate business has been such a wonderful fit for me. I enjoy learning about my clients interests and passions and helping them to meet their goals. Integrity and the trust that this inspires are prerequisites to doing business. I am committed to putting the same energy into serving my clients as I put into everything else I do.
My background prior to real estate was as a Sales Director for Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, along with other luxury resort developments. I have traveled extensively and become very familiar with most of the resort and development companies that are players today. I also understand the level of service and followup that my clients expect and am committed to making the search and buying process easy on them. I have developed relationships with Brokers and Developers all over the country that allow me to provide a high level of knowledge and assistance to my customers.
Ultimately my hope is that all of my customers become my friends. It is important to me to do business and live by certain key principles: integrity, honesty, selflessness. I take a long term approach, getting to know my clients along the way.
Areas of Expertise
My background has given me a unique ability to understand and assist clients who are interested in a resort or second home, or investment property in North Idaho. I have represented developers of some of the most successful resort communities in the country and I understand where the best values can be found in this area.
I was recruited from Santa Barbara to Sandpoint in order to manage the Real Estate Discovery Center at Schweitzer Ski Resort. The ownership group of Schweitzer Mountain has contracted with me as Listing Agent for all of their property at Schweitzer (they own 7300 acres), including slopeside communities with homesites and builder product, and development parcels allowing for anywhere from 2 units to a 100 unit condominium site. Most prospective buyers and sellers of real estate on the mountain find their way to our Disovery Center at Schweitzer.
Through my Sothebys affiliation, I am also very connected with the other significant resort developments around Sandpoint, including the lakefront communities of Dover Bay and Seasons at Sandpoint. Sothebys is also the exclusive listing broker for these developments. In fact our office controls approximately 25% to 33% of the real estate transactions in the Selkirk MLS.
I have an Idaho as well as a California Broker license, am an active investor myself, and have lived all over the country. My background as a Director of Sales with Four Seasons Hotels gives me an understanding of the important Hospitality component and how that fits in with the overall investment strategy when considering a resort real estate purchase. I represent developers that manage all facets of a real estate development.
I also have several years experience as a Mortgage Broker, both residential and commercial. I understand how investors should evaluate a real estate decision and have worked with many sophisticated buyers and sellers over the years. My financial understanding, including an MBA from University of South Carolina, allows me to help clients from every perspective.
