We contacted Amy at Parker House Designs to help us better utilize the existing space in our home. Running a business from home, our office is very important and unfortunately it had been squished into a small corner of an room that was already not be used to its potential. Amy immediately presented innovative ideas that had never occurred to us and we were definitely open to all concepts to help us get organized.
The end results were instantly dramatic and have greatly impacted our lives. We converted our dining room into a 2 person office and it has resolved both business and personal organizational issues. The room that was once used a few times a year is now a functional family space. EVERYTHING has a place. The checkbook, envelopes and stamps can all be found when the bills are do! Client files are all together and up to date and we can now surf the net as a family with the multiple computer stations. Our "fireplace" room is an odd shape and we didn't know what to do with the furniture. Amy transformed it into not 1 but 2 completely usable spaces for us. A new dining room area right off the kitchen making meal time so much easier and clean up faster, and a sitting area where my son and his friends can play chess, read or just hang out.
The entire process was a lot of work, but it forced us to analyze what was important to our family and helped us obtain that goal. The results so far exceeded our expectations and we can't wait for Amy to come back and work on the next space!
