About our Town
We are a small community with only about 500 properties listed at any one time. It is easy to stay atop all the properties available. I have lived here since 1992 and as a result am an 'honorary' CONCH. Like being a Kentucky Colonel. Marathon is in the heart of the Keys, about 75 miles south-west of metro Miami. Close enough that if you get "mall fever " you can get your 'fix' in about two hours, yet far enough away that you get no impact from a large city. Heading west, yes west, you come to Key West. About 1 1/2 hour drive and you are at the end of the road. Literally. Parrothead city, Duval crawl and Fantasy Fest , you got a love it!
We are cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter than Miami. Our average year around temperture is 79 degrees. Our average SNOWFALL is -zero-. Most important is our water temp which runs between the low 70's and the mid 80's. Every day is a fine day to swim, snorkel or dive.
Oh, don't forget about fishing. Any day is a good day on the water. Come try it, you'll not want to leave.
What I Do:
I am available for any home, mobile home, condo, or vacant lot. Most homes in this area are on the water. The key is does it fit your boating needs? You don't want to buy a home with 3 foot water then bring your sailboat, with a 4 foot draft, down and not be able to dock in your backyard. As a licensed captain, I know our waters.
