Testimonials
Happy Birthday and thank you so much for helping us find such a great house.
Katya and Jerry of Scarborough, ME
Our agent, Rick Beal, went above and beyond his responsibilities to help us in this complicated cross country move. His efforts exceeded our expectations and were very much appreciated.
Dr. Manly and Mary Jane H. of Yarmouth, ME
Rick is an "aggressive" broker, but in a highly professional way, with a pleasant and "laid-back" personality. The most amazing thing about Rick is that he treats one as though they were his ONLY client. Before, during and after the sale, he was always here to explain things to me. If you are buying or selling a home, I cannot recommend Rick Beal highly enough.
Dr. Jill W., formerly of Gorham, ME
Please accept our sincere appreciation for the service we received from Rick Beal during the sales process of our home in Portland.
Our home had been previously listed with another agency that had not provided the service we were promised. At the expiration of our contract, we interviewed several brokers, but had trouble establishing any bond of trust - based primarily on our previous experience. Of all the agents we met, Rick and Coldwell Banker offered the lowest listing price and required a higher commission than other brokers. After (not) sleeping on it, we came to understand that the market is set by the buyers, not the sellers, and that if we were too low, that error would be corrected in a bidding war. Consider how well Rick must have presented the benefits of both himself and your organization for us to make the decision we made. We chose Rick because of his preparation and professionalism. He demonstrated a substantial knowledge of the current market and exhibited a desire to "go the extra mile," on our behalf. As a result of listing with him, we had an offer within two weeks, closed within two months, and were satisfied with our final price. You get what you pay for.

When my husband and I interviewed Rick to be our realtor, it was evident within the first 10 minutes that he would be our choice. After relocating 7 times around the country and working with several realtors in the past, we could tell immediately that Rick "wanted" the listing and was excited about it. He quickly went over marketing techniques that even we were not aware of in the past. He prepared our market analysis efficientely and let us feel "in control" of pricing the property but not without his knowledgable advice. We listed our property on a Thursday and found our buyer at the first open house that Sunday. We had signed an offer within the first 2 weeks of listing the property.
We are very greatful to Rick for his outstanding promptness to return phone calls and his availability for appointments. We also just really liked him! We had fun during the process and we all refused to be negative during a really tough market. Rick also handled this sale during one of the most important times of his life, having a new baby! Congratulations to Rick and his wife on their new baby girl!
We would recommend Rick to be your realtor! Without a doubt, this was one of the best experiences we have had in selling a home!
Thank You Rick!

Dear Coldwell Banker,
I would like to thank you for all of your time and hard work that went into our recent move to Maine. In particular, I would like to thank Mr. Rick Beal of the Portland office for his incredible diligence in finding us the perfect house! Relocating to Maine after 25 years of living in the same house in Massachusetts was a big decision on our part. Mr. Beal turned what could have been a very stressful situation into one that was both pleasant and productive.
On a personal note though, Rick was more than an excellent realtor, he quickly became a friend to the family, and shared our excitement and sometimes disappointments throughout the long process. When our home in Mass. Was slow to sell, Rick was encouraging, and helped up keep our focus on our future in Maine. We feel very lucky to have had Rick Beal as our realtor, and we thank him for making this time in our lives such an exciting one. To Coldwell Banker, and especially to Rick, our heartfelt thanks.

My fiancé and I first met Rick Beal at an open house in Portland. The property wasn't what we were looking for, but as it turned out, Rick was!
As first time home buyers, and with an offer already on the property we wanted, we were scared out of our wits. But as the process went on, I began to realize why Rick had said in the beginning: "I'll be the level-headed one, there to calm you down as things get stressful". And boy, did they ever, but he made a scary, intimidating process very smooth, and within a month of signing with Rick, we were closed and moved into our first house.
Although we picture ourselves in our new home for years to come, there is no doubt that we will be giving Rick a shout when we're ready to sell.

At the beginning of my journey of looking for a home, I stumbled upon Rick Beal at an open house. I found him to be refreshingly honest, sincere and knowlegdeable, all qualities I truly didn't expect to find in just one real estate agent. Rick promptly followed through on his promise of sending out many possible listings to look at. He was persistent yet not aggressive. Once I became a client of Rick's he made me feel as though I was his only client, which I knew was not the case, yet I felt I had his complete 100% undivided attention.
Even after moving into my new home I had additional questions for Rick and found him to still be patient, informative, understanding and helpful. He informed me that even after the sale he was still there to help. His actions definitely supported this. Anyone would be fortunate to call Rick Beal his/her real estate agent.
Tracy W., South Portland, Maine
Thank you so much for looking in on the house for us. That goes above and beyond and we really appreciate your efforts. We both look forward to calling you and saying it's time to list this house. Thanks again for everything you've done.

Hey Rick - What more can I say? When it comes to a real estate broker, as the saying goes, "you are the man." We cannot thank you enough for all of your help. Let's get together for lunch soon.
Bob and Jacqui F., Brunswick, Maine
Just wanted you to know Missy and I are still very happy and content in our new home. Missy has done and excellent job settling in at OOB High School. She has been on the honor roll all year and missed being nominated to the National Honor Society by 1 grade point. This was a great move for us. Thanks again Rick for all your help!!!

In the summer of 2006 I had the chance to work with Richard Beal in our search for a home in Maine. We (I and my wife) met him at an open house event and, after few discussions, we asked him to help us find a home. I grew up in a different country, in a different culture, where writing recommendations, thank you notes, thank you for your thanks notes, etc. is not a common practice; so I not used to it. However, I come to appreciate when I can base my choices on other people unbiased opinions, and whenever I come across services that earned my appreciation I try to share my experience with other people.
In our search, he patiently dealt with our impatience, indecisiveness, and lack of experience in this kind of transactions. But what I appreciated the most was his professional knowledge. While a nice patient person is good to hang out with, when you want to buy a property you actually need somebody who also knows things about architectural designs, about construction practices, about market trends or market pitfalls, about property evaluation, about things that you as a first-time buyer don't know, tend to omit or disregard. Rick Beal is this kind of person.

In September, I accidentally submitted a request for more information on a property listed on NewEnglandMoves.com. My intention was to contact the listing agent for more information, not find a real estate agent for myself and husband. In less than fifteen minutes of clicking submit on the website, my phone was ringing and I was speaking with Richard Beal of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage.
Imagine that - in a world of endless automated phone systems that require all sorts of secret numbers and passwords to get a real person on the other end, within fifteen minutes the person I needed to talk to was calling me. When we decided we were ready to start looking at houses in the greater Portland area, we had already decided we would not be using a real estate agent. I had every real estate website committed to memory, not to mention the grocery bag full of real estate magazines I picked up every time I went to the grocery store. What did we need a real estate agent for? After looking at a countless number of houses, one rejected purchase and sale agreement, one expired purchase and sale agreement over the course of four months, we had our future home under contract and were going to be home owners. For most couples, this probably isn't an amazing feat, but my husband and I... well, let's just leave it at, if we are going to share a pizza, we can only get a cheese pizza because it is the only topping we can agree on.
And I almost forgot to mention, with all of those real estate magazines and the websites I was armed with, I never did come across the house we bought. It with complete confidence that I recommend Rick Beal to you as your future real estate agent of choice, and if by chance, I strike up a conversation with you at the grocery store or while picking up a cup of coffee and you mention buying or selling real estate, I will be giving you one of Rick's cards and highly recommend you give him a call.
