Rick has over 25 years of international legal, financial and real property experience. Rick holds a law degree as well and served as General Counsel for Johnson Controls Integrated Facility Management Group and lived in Hong Kong in the mid-1990's as the Director of Motorola's Asia-Pacific Law Department where he guided the legal and financial strategies and negotiated the terms for numerous acquisitions and divestitures of companies throughout Asia and the rest of the world.

Originally from Chicago, Rick and his wife Pam, who is a professor of communications at the University of South Carolina's New River Campus, successfully invested in property here in 1998 and as a result were able to move to the LowCountry permanently in 2002. Rick believes that this is one of the best times in our history to invest in real estate in the LowCountry, particularly Bluffton. While Rick specializes in bringing his legal and real estate talents to bear to help investors throughout the country and the world take advantage of this opportunity and make sound real estate investments in our unique coastal setting, he truly enjoys working directly with buyers and sellers of primary residences and second homes to help them realize that they too can have all of their dreams come true.

Expertise and Interests

Rick specializes in working with buyers from outside of the Lowcountry area who are interested in moving to the lovely region, buying a second home or investing. He loves working with first time home buyers and works closely with new home developers in the area to understand at any givn point in time where the best opportunites lie.

Rick is also a writer and has written many articles about real estate and architecture in South Carolina's Low Country and is currently working on a book about his father's World War II experiences as a prisoner of war in Stalag Luft III, the subject of "The Great Escape."

Rick currently sits on the Board of Directors of Parents Anonymous South Carolina.
