Our Experience-Joe and Teresa Derksen
Well right from the beginning of the talk of selling our house I (Teresa) was not happy let alone excited. I was worried about the selling process let alone dealing with a realtor. When we agreed on a realtor I prepared myself for the worst; someone coming in and pointing out all the ways my house could look better and house much cleaning would need to be done for it to be "presentable". Joe said it woulnd't be that bad and insisted that I ralaxed. I couldn't. Not until Sandra Came over the first night to go over paper work with us and give us our info, she not only made me feel like my house was well kept but that it was a nice home and had value. I was so relieved that I didn't have to defend how I felt about my house, after all this was our first house in which we have had both our boys and had put a lot of work into making it a home for them. Sandra complimented many things and only had a few suggestions about oraganizing and decluttering. (which we needed to do anyways :) After Sandra had come over I had a short list of things to do and a new found excitement in selling our house. So off to work we went. Sandra oganized a realtors open house for us, where she made dollar sign cookies on the shape of a house, brought hot chocolate and strawberries, and hosted the whole thing because we couldn't be there. Sandra has a lot of friends in the business and we could tell from all the business cards left behind that many were there. It went very well we thought. After that it all hapened very fast. I mean very fast, within 3 days we had an offer and after we accepted in a total of 10 days it was SOLD! It was great! Short and sweet is how we look at it. We were blessed to have Sandra on our side and so will you be if you so choose.

YES, I was a For Sale By Owner! Hello Sandra, I write this from afar as you know because we are on the other side of Canada now. I wanted to write you a note to say thank you so very much for helping us with this very stressful and important time. We had heard nightmares about the realtors in Grande Prairie, so when it came time to list our house and head back home to BC, we were really nervous. We contacted Sandra about the house, and she was open and forthright on the telephone about the Grande Prairie market, and was willing to pop by the same day to give us some homework and give the house a quick look before coming in for a listing appointment. Sandra instantly put us at ease. She gave us a list of market comparables, and let us set a reasonable price for our house, but was also willing to give us her opinion when we wanted it. She let us know what the market was like for our neighborhood, and didnt make any outrageous promises. She told us the average days-on-the-market for Grande Prairie, and our neighborhood, and assured us that as long as we were willing to work with her, our house would sell in the timeline we were looking for. We fully expected that the house would be on the market for at least a month, so imagine our surprise when we were able to accept an offer less than a week after listing! We were really anxious about moving to Grande Prairie. So it was really nice to find a Realtor who was willing to give up her Sunday afternoon to show us houses while we were in town. Even though we lost the house we liked because of multiple offers, we felt comfortable going back to Whitecourt knowing Sandra would keep her eye for possible properties. She got us way more for our house than we expected and because of her we could afford a much more suitable house for our family.
