About Jeffrey Marples, (Broker/Owner) and the team at Spinnaker.
We are a unique group of like minded professionals who have come together to create a thriving business in the heart of the Bay Area. We consider San Francisco to be the center for our business activities, but more importantly, it is our home and were we live, raise our children and enjoy the unique flavors that only San Francisco and the Bay Area have to offer.
San Francisco is not a very large city, only 7X7 miles squared, however its density, beautiful architecture and variety of neighborhoods creates an amazingly fulfilling environment to live in.
We sell properties primarily in San Francisco, although we also cover areas of Southern Marin, San Mateo, and select East Bay locations.
We also recognized early on, that San Francisco is riddled with all types of real estate, from Single Family Homes, Condominium and Tenancy in Common (TIC) , to Multi-Tenant Residential, Mixed Use, Commercial properties and Lots.
We've understand the unique nuances in our market to help better assist owners, both residential owners and investors, with TIC's & Condo Conversions, Rent Control and Tenant Evictions, and with solid hard work to get the job done right.
About Me and How Did I Get Here?
Well ~~~~waves~~~~~ it all happened ~~~~~more waves~~~~~ a long long time ago, in a land far far away.... Well not really, more like 400 miles south in Pasadena, California, this is where I grew up and still have family and friends.
After graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 92', I found myself floating in the Barring Sea and working as a fisheries biologist for NOAA. Great experience, but not really for me as a career. In 96' I found myself drawn back to Boulder, where I met my wife and lived the idyllic lifestyle for awhile. That is until we moved to Taipei, Taiwan. This was our first year of marriage and will live where? The move was the hardest thing we have ever done, and worth every minute.
I worked for a private equity investment group called Aldare Capital Partners. We essentially helped create strategic partnerships for US and Australian technology companies who were looking for manufacturing partnerships along with venture capital funding.
We left Taiwan back in 2000 and relocated to San Francisco. I worked at Silicon Valley Bank for a short stint and decided a large corporate environment was not for me. To entrepreneurial I guess. So I decided to get my real estate license and go to work at Prudential. I did so until I received my broker's license and incorporated Spinnaker in 08'.
In my professional life I'm a real estate broker, investor and a business owner. I take pride in my work and it shows. In my personal life, I've been married for 11 years and have found the person of my dreams. I'm blessed with 3 beautiful kids, a little boy and twin girls. We love to travel and live life to the fullest.

By having a solid understanding of a particular neighborhood, a specific street and development complex, puts you in a position where when you begin to view individual properties, you can do so in an overall context of the market segments from which you are selecting.

The Income Property Group:
Because of our commercial property brokerage and investing experience, our Investor Adviser's will dissect financial statements and will determine which properties are good investments and which will give the most return, and which properties can be repositioned to create greater value.
We see two bright spots in the current investment real estate market place:
Multi-Family Residential properties offer many compelling reasons for investment, especially in today's market. Shelter is one of the necessities of life, and as Americans shift back to a more sustainable lifestyles, we see apartment building starting to make more financial sense. Apartments traditionally keep up with inflation better than other forms of real estate and offer the owner great economies of scale and stability by placing multiple streams of income under one roof.
Net-leased (NNN)properties backed by high credit corporations such as Bank of America, AutoZone, McDonald's and Walgreen's bound to long-term leases can provide stability, security and management-free real estate. This subset of properties offers a known quantity for long-term investment performance at a time when there is little certainty in anything else. The rate of return is generally lower than riskier investments because they offer increased security and stability, a trait valued in the current economy.
