- Description
- I do not tell anyone what they should do. I listen to their desires and suggest the best way to achieve them. I know this market and understand the nuances of real estate law.
The Who...
This is supposed to be about me. After all, I am the one hoping that you will call. There is a section down below that is labeled "The Why". It includes a few notes from "satisfied" customers. Those are the results. The who exists for the why. I do this because I receive great satisfaction from doing my job. Sure, there are ups and downs during every transaction. I like calming the water. My personal success is not measured in dollars and cents. My success is measured by the smiles on the faces of those that I have helped. I enjoy teaching, negotiating and guiding.

The finest computer screen on the market, does not reveal the truth behind all the data you see. Statistics can be used to support either side of any argument and distort the true value of any purchase. I think you deserve a fighting chance. I think you should have all aspects of the market explained to you. I think you are smart enough to make a good decision. You just need the truth. I make sure you hear it.
The other important aspect about me is that I believe that there are times you will want to travel on your own, exploring your possibilities. There will be days that you want to drive around on your own. You will want to be able to reach me quickly with a question, but quickly should not include me sitting in your back seat or at the extra chair in the room. I give you space. I remain as close as a phone call or text message. I am pretty comfortable doing things at your pace. I hope we have a chance to discuss your dreams.
The What...
Real Estate. I realize that some agents prefer to "specialize" in areas. I have not made that decision. I prefer to be a "general practioner" of real estate. I am committed to making sure those that call on me are treated equally. Different clients come from assorted backgrounds, each possessing unique qualities. I make sure that every client understands the process. I make sure that every transaction has the solid base of sound real estate practice.
I also understand that the rapid escalation and subsequent rapid decline of prices in our area has put the comfort level of home ownership beyond the comfort level of the first time buyer and the average consumer. The relationship between dollar earned and the cost of a home is always in flux. Is it better to rent than own? Is it really a good time to buy? These are normal questions that are specific to each consumer. I can't change the market. I can promise you that if I represent you , you will fully understand your options. Once your attainable goals have been identified, I will work to help you achieve them.
My door is always open to first time buyers and I also enjoy the opportunity to help those relocating to the area. I have made a conscious effort to remain aware of all programs benefiting our armed services personel as well as those working in the service industries. Our military, our police, our firefighters, our teachers, our skilled and unskilled laborers deserver the best in representation. They make our community safe and elevate our quality of life. I enjoy returning the favor.
The Why...
Dear John,
We wanted to take an opportunity to thank you once again for making our home buying experience so enjoyable. Your attention to detail, professionalism and knowledge of real estate helped ease many of our concerns as first time home buyers. We were very impressed with each interaction we encountered with you and with Long and Foster.
Thank you for your sincere consideration of our needs and your honesty. It was obvious through each property that we viewed that you selected each home according to our wants and needs.
Words cannot express how thankful we are for our new home! You truly found us a wonderful place to begin our lives together. It is everything we wanted and more!
Thank you once again for your hard work, encouragement and most of all your friendship. We look forward to sharing our new experiences as homeowners with the you!
Sincerely,
Adam & Raquel Wilson

A note to praise the wonderful service the MacArthur Group did for me in selling my house.
John was very courteous, kind, and expert in their field. I was so pleased to have him handle my property.
I felt I had known him all my life. He is really and asset to your organization. I will certainly refer any of my friends and former neighbors to the group.
I have settled in here in WV and love the quietness and beautiful mountains. Give him my best wishes and my sincere thanks.
Words are inadequate to describe how great he was!
Sincerely,

Dear Lourdes & John,
Thank you so much for the time and attention you've given us the past couple of months.
We really appreciate how quickly, smoothly and professionally you took us through this adventure.
You even found a tenant...we were dreading that.
The old advice of interviewing 3 agents is bunk...just call John and Lourdes!

Dear Mr. Foster,
I just wanted to let you know what a positive experience I had when I purchased my home with the invaluable assistance of your agent, John MacArthur.
Prior to meeting John, I had never met a real estate agent that I thought was worth a damn! John MacArthur was knowledgeable, professional, personable, persistent, ethical and honorable. He showed me homes from Brunswick to Taneytown to Columbia and never gave up working on my behalf even when I was discouraged.
Several years ago I swore I would never do business with a Long & Foster agent after a disastrous experience with an agent in another state. John was referred to me by my mortgage lender who assured me that John was the agent I needed to find the home I wanted. He was so right!
I would recommend John (in a heartbeat!) to anyone who needed an honest, hardworking, knowledgeable real estate professional. When I am ready to sell my home, John will be the one who gets my business. Please let him know what an asset he was to me during my search for a home.
John is a "stand-up" kinda guy who delivered what he promised.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely Yours,
Michael Driscoll
