I started in this industry right out of highschool in 1987.  It was a job that would pay my bills and help put me through college.  Of course, by the time I finished grad school I was so dug into this industry, had so many fantastic colleagues and allies, and so enjoyed working with borrowers that truly appreciated the work that I did, that I opted not to leave.

This personal journey is very contrary to how most people get here, and I believe that one of the greatest strengths that my company brings to the industry is that I didn't end up here by default... I'm here by choice, and it's a choice that I'm glad I made.

Although I'm a licensed mortgage broker, I choose to focus my energies on processing.  There are so many marvelous sales people out there that the industry scarcely needs another.  However, an excellent processor is hard to find... it's darn near as difficult as finding your soul mate. 

Specialty Mortgage Services is a full-service contract processing company, dedicated to both the borrowers and the brokers, and working to make sure transactions go smoothy, honestly, and profitably.  Now, be truthful... isn't that what everyone wants?

I believe that processing is a calling, not a technicality.  I believe that processing is the most crucial aspect to a mortgage transaction.  Most importantly, I believe that processing tends to be under-valued by many brokers, simply because they've never had truly outstanding processing, and the result of that perspective is lost revenues and lost borrowers.  In an industry where it is easier to keep a borrower than to generate a new one, Specialty Mortgage Services is a full-service processing company dedicated to maximizing revenues while minimizing the problems that come from loans being poorly processed, submitted to an ill-fitting lender and customers knowing little about what is taking place around the most important asset most of them will every have.
