Bowness Park, run by Calgary Parks and Recreation is located in the north west part of the city.  Bowness Park is approximately 12 kilometres from city centre.  It is open to the public all year round and easily accessed by car or bus. The park is situated between a lagoon and the Bow River. 

Boating, picnicking, and miniature golf are popular activities in the summer months.  Cross-country skiing and ice-skating are available during the winter months.   

The Lagoon Cafe and Cappuccino Bar, located at the park entrance, serves drinks and light meals.
