When I was a child receiving the Sears Christmas Toy Catalog, was as much of a tradition in my home as Mom's apple pie.

Every year when the north winds started to blow towards my Virginia home, we would search the mailbox daily in hopes that the Sears Christmas Toy Catalog had arrived. Receiving the catalog was about as exciting as receiving a toy from it. My brothers and I spent hours going through the pages dreaming about what we were going to ask Santa to bring us for Christmas. We wore the catalog out by the time Christmas arrived. How exciting it was to find the toy I picked out waiting for me under the tree on Christmas morning. I can remember those magical feelings of joy like it were yesterday. 

Let's keep hope alive in the eyes of a child, if at all possible give a new toy to your local Toys for Tots. Lets help make sure all children feel the excitement that  we  did as a child on Christmas morning.

Last weekend I attended the Sanders Family Christmas performance by the Pell City Players. It was so entertaining it kept me smiling during the entire performance.
