Mesa del Oro is an equestrian-friendly community in Gold Canyon Arizona. The community is located only about 45 minutes east of the Phoenix SkyHarbor airport, east on Highway 60, north on Kings Ranch Road.

The community was designed with 204 single family homes located on 1 to 3 acres ~ 79 of the the homes have more than 3 acres and everyone has horse privileges via easements. Residents are able to use community easements throughout the community and are able to access state land to the East without having to cross or ride on any roads.

Mesa del Oro is one of the few communities within Gold Canyon that does not have a Home Owner's Association (HOA).

There are no street lights, which allows for dark skies at night and the ability to star gaze right from one's own yard.
