Wrigley, Long Beach CA Home Prices Up
October brought home price increases throughout Long Beach, including 90806, the Wrigley neighborhood of Long Beach. Citywide, the median sales price in October 2013 was $469,000 -- up $126,000 (or 25%) from October 2012, according to Pacific West Association of Realtors.
In 90806, the median home price last month was $397,000 -- up $87,000 from October 2012 and $39,500 from just last month. Meanwhile the inventory of homes for sale in 90806 remained very low, with just a 1.6 month supply. That means we are still in a strong seller's market and this is still a great time to put a home on the market.
With the holidays on our doorstep, some Long Beach CA home buyers and sellers put their plans on hold. But actually the end of the year can be an ideal time to make a move. Traditionally, home sellers have gravitated toward spring and summer, allowing families with kids to get ina new home before the new school year starts in September. Spring and summer bring more homes on the market and lots of buzz, but it isn't necessarily the best time to sell. More than half of all home buyers don't have children and don't care about the school year.
