~ Petaluma's Rivertown Rooster on a Speechless Sunday in Sonoma County ~ This unflappable guy is both ironic and iconic.  The irony lies in his metal composition.  I mean how many steel chickens leave you with a warm appreciation for a town?  This one does when you know that it's an aging icon of a town once called the "Chicken Capital of the World."  Just take a look a this photo from an old Montgomery Wards catalogue at the so-called Petaluma Poultry Train loaded with chickens headed to what was also once called "Chick-aluna"...and "P-town."   Agriculture is still a big part of Petaluma's identity and economy although chicken production has become a  smaller part of it.  Perhaps you've heard of Rockey Free Range Chicken?  It's some of the best chicken that can be found---in any town.

Petaluma, CA: Graziano's Ristorante is one of the best Italian restaurants in town. Located in the heart of Petaluma's downtown and set in the historic Wickersham Building at 170 Petaluma Blvd. North, Graziano's Ristorante has a welcoming feel from the moment you walk through the front door. With its large full bar and separate spacious dining area, it is a fabulous place for happy hour snacking or a leisurely elegant meal. My husband and I moved to Petaluma, CA six years ago and Graziano's was one of the first restaurants we tried. I fell in love with their lasagna immediately and he was very excited to find Pollo Dorato (breast of chicken in a light egg batter with lemon butter and white wine) on their menu. Graziano's was the first restaurant we took our daughter to at three weeks ol...

With all the news and opinions swirling about most people entering the Real Estate market are convinced that all things Real Estate are Bad.  So I blog to tell you that amidst all the bad news, rates finished .125 percent better than where they began a week ago. A small indication that the Federal takeover may bring more good news to those dealing with the Mortgage rates, on a regular basis.  As far as things in Sonoma county are concerned, it is apparent that the first wave of the homes hit by the foreclosure storm are most likely gone by now. And everything that remains on the market is slim pickins for those who have been waiting on the sidelines. The World rewards people who are bold and take chances. Now is the time to strike and seize your oppurtunity to upgrade your current livin...
