Question: I am representing a 70 yr old veteran who is purchasing his 1st home. We have looked for 2 years and found the perfect home 5 months ago. The home was a shortsale. We just signed our docs and have now heard that the seller has cancelled his signing and does not plan on signing or moving out now. My buyer has been incredibly kind and just this weekend paid the seller $2500 in order to help him move (My buyer bought some of his furnishings and appliances to help him out) The listing agents says that he cannot force his seller to go forward. My manager has said the same thing. The buyer has a loan lock on an interest rate that no longer exists, he has cancelled his lease and has no where to go after this week. I find it hard to believe that there is nothing that can be done. This seems fraudulent on the part of the seller and his agent.
