Today the mercury is soaring in the San Francisco Bay Area. Even temperate San Francisco is in the 80s.   So what does that have to to with Barbara Corcoran, coconut water and Allyne Park? Only that when my office became too stuffy and warm (we don't have air conditioning here) to be effective, I took a break.   First I walked to my local Golden Gate Valley branch library to pick up a book they were holding for me, Use What You've Got and other Business Lessons I learned from My Mom by Barbara Corcoran, walked a block west on Green Street to the Blue Fog Market to pick up a cold drink, and then headed across the street to quiet, little Allyne Park.   After finding a bench in the deep shade of the redwood and other trees, I enjoyed a quiet hour reading in the fresh air - much preferable ...

I enjoy living in San Francisco, and taking advantage of friendly services and shops in Cow Hollow and other neighborhoods. One of those services is Resolution Wellness, a Pilates and physical therapy studio located in a charming building at 1626 Union Street, between Franklin and Gough streets. Amber Keyes, one of the co-owners and the manager of the San Francisco studio also is a Pilates instructor. With her background in dance, knowledge in movement, and training in Pilates she is well-qualified to provide Pilates to us in both individual and class situations. Since the classes use specialized equipment, they are limited in size to 3 persons, which provides great attention by Amber or other instructors to each individual student. Meet Amber in this brief video, and learn a bit more a...

San Francisco neighborhoods make for delightful walking.Recently I posted a picture of a cool house on Franklin Street, one that just makes me feel happy whenever I see it. Today, as I walked from my early-morning exercise class on Union Street in Cow Hollow to my home a few blocks up the hill, I snapped a picture of this little house, across the street from the other, about a block away. This section of Franklin Street between Union Street and Clay (and beyond) is lined with condominiums, apartment buildings and single-family houses. All are set flush with the sidewalk--except this non-conformist! Another house that makes me smile, as I enjoy living my San Francisco dream.

Life in San Francisco - Lisa Eddy Skin Care I first met Lisa Eddy and her discovered her amazing and intuitive skill a number of years ago at a spa in Mill Valley which, sadly, no longer is in operation. Lisa Eddy, happily, is still very much in the wellness business and has developed quite a following over the years. Not only does she have an encyclopedic knowledge of skin care issues and products, she's a wonderful teacher, offering suggestions but always listening to you and your needs and wants. Her warmth and positive life attitude helps create a feeling of well-being that goes beyond the physical benefits of a wonderful facial. If you're like me, you'll leave feeling happy, relaxed and rejuvenated  Book an appointment and you'll quickly see why, and if you need convincing, check o...
