Christmas in Yorba Linda, California is exceptionally beautiful and there's always a very festive atmosphere in our city, aptly known as the Land of Gracious Living. One major reason for this, is the East Lake Village Boat Parade. This 25 year, annual tradition is a local favorite with Yorba Linda residents, and serves as a reminder that the Christmas season has officially begun. This year there will be several food trucks at the East Lake Village Clubhouse, so you can enjoy some dinner before settling in to watch the beautifully decorated boats circle the lake.

6:00 pm- Cookies, Cocoa and Cider served in the East Lake Village Clubhouse (entrance to the clubhouse granted to East Lake Village residents only, with proper ID).

6:30 pm- Holiday Light and Boat Parade Begins.

East Lake Village Holiday Boat Parade in Yorba Linda, California

Yorba Linda, California, known as "Land of Gracious Living", is a compilation of beautiful neighborhoods surrounded by rolling hills and sweeping skyline views.

One of the most well known and perfectly situated neighborhoods in Yorba Linda, is East Lake Village, and every year the residents and homeowners association host one of the most anticipated holiday events in the city- the East Lake Village Holiday Boat Parade!

What makes this such a unique light show is the fact that East Lake Village is set around a 15 acre man made lake, and the residents decorate not only their homes, but their boats as well, which they then parade around the lake, for everyone to admire. The view of the lake is stunning, but especially with all of the lights dancing off the water. This is definitely something that both adults and children will enjoy!

The holiday boat parade in Yorba Linda is like a mini version of the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade that takes place every year, in south Orange County, California.

I've attended the East Lake Village Parade many times over the 13+ years that I've lived in Yorba Linda, and have enjoyed it every time!

This is a great way to spend an evening with your family, that wont cost you a dime, unless you'd like to swing by the Starbucks on the corner of Village Center and Yorba Linda Blvd in the Village Center Shopping complex (just 1 minute up the street) to grab a cup of coffee or hot chocolate to enjoy on your walk around the lake.

The East Lake Village Holiday Boat Parade will be held on Saturday, December 11th and Sunday, December 12th, 2010, with the parade beginning at 6:30 and ending at approximately 8:00 p.m. each night.

There is plenty of parking on the surrounding East Lake residential streets, but it does tend to get crowded due to the popularity of this event. I recommend getting an early start, so you don't have to walk too far to reach the lake.

Yorba Linda, California is located off of the 91 freeway at Imperial Hwy, and East Lake Village can be found at 5325 Village Center Drive, Yorba Linda, California 92886. Click Here to get directions from your location via Mapquest.

If you're traveling from outside of Yorba Linda, I suggest that you plan to arrive early and have dinner in the area, prior to the East Lake Boat Parade. The Village Center Shopping complex has numerous restaurants and fast food establishments, as well as the Starbucks that I mentioned.

Places to eat in the Village Center Shopping complex include:
