Christmas Dinner At The Souto House 2013.  Christmas is a special day at the Souto House, and special days for us are accompanied by a special meal.  Today our special Christmas meal was a first.  Today was the first Christmas we have ever prepared our Christmas meal on our outside grill.  Yes the weather today was that nice, and we decided to take advantage of it.  To top it off the meal was perfect for the grill, on the menu was a Beef Tenderloin Roast and King Crab Legs. Cooking out on the grill is my job, so that I was in charge of the meal.  The weather was nice, and the grill was warm, but a coat was still in order.  I love food on the grill, there is just something about it which makes it extra tasty.  Everyone's cut of was just the way they like it.  I like my meat well done, so... 12/25/2013

  What A Difference A Week Makes!!!  The picture on the left was taken last Saturday, December 14, 2013, and the picture on the right was taken yesterday Sunday, December 22, 2013. We actually had another 5" to 6" of snow fall here in Middletown, CT on top of what you see in the picture on the left, on Monday, December 16th.  So between the two snow falls we had about 12" of snow on the ground by Monday night.  But all it took was three days of warm weather, and PUFF it was all gone except for those couple of small patches of snow you see in the picture on the right.  However, even those two little spots of snow are gone with all the rain we have been getting today. One of my favorite streets to drive through in Middletown, Connecticut, at Christmas time is Sandhill Road.  The residents on this street go all out in decorating their homes in lights every year, and this year was no exception.  The light display on each house is very much the same this year as it was last year, which is OK with me, because I don't see how they could have improved on last year's displays.  Sandhill Road is easily the best example of Christmas Lights In Middletown, Connecticut For 2013, I wish there was an award I could give them for the great job they do.  The residents on the street also put out a box for those who are stopping by to see their homes all lit up to donate food for those in need during this time of the year.  I don't know how much they collect each year... 12/18/2013

Snow And Sleet In Middletown, CT.  Yesterday we did not get the amount of snow predicted, but the unexpected sleet which fell on top of it made it worst than if we had gotten the additional snow.  I am thankful it was not the 36" of snow we got back in February, but the sleet added it's own special twist. This snow storm is the first significant snow storm we have had this Winter, and dumped more snow on us than the one we had at about the same time last year.  My next door neighbor was away, so his wife, daughter, and grandson were alone.  If the snow storm had just been snow, his wife and daughter might have been able to clear it themselves, but sleet on top of snow is a whole other story.  So besides clearing my driveway, walkways, and cars, I cleared off their driveway, walkways, an... 12/15/2013

The Exchange Club of Middletown will be hosting the sixth annual Exchange Club A Holiday Evening of Harmony Concert on Saturday, December 14th. at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of  the Mercy High School, in Middletown, CT.
