WHY A PUBLIC CLAIMS ADJUSTER SHOULD BE HIRED ON EVERY CLAIM

Presently, the insurance market in Florida is very unfriendly to the consumer/policy owner.

Top management of insurance companies, with very few exceptions, take every opportunity and employ every strategy to improve their "bottom line", even if that means employing legal, though unethical and/or punitive tactics against a policyholder who makes a claim. Obviously, the more money paid out on claims decreases the bottom line. In today's claims climate, therefore, insurance company employee adjusters, and their retained "independent" adjusters are trained and encouraged to keep claims payments to an absolute minimum, and are encouraged to try to settle every claim for the least possible dollar amount the policyholder is willing to accept, often without any regard for the policy coverage or the promises made to the policy owner in the policy contract.

Moreover, many insurance companies have retained specialists or financial consultants to advise them specifically on how to improve their bottom line. The most notable of these is McKinsey & Co., who includes the top insurance providers, to whom they recommend a claims handling policy known as the "Three Ds": Deny, Delay and Defend. You, or someone you know, may have experienced this strategy, first hand.

The necessity for a prudent policy holder to employ a public insurance adjuster, on any and every property claim was best summed up by William F. To conclude it is not unheard of for settlements of between two and five times greater than the insurance company’s original offer to be recovered by retaining a public insurance adjuster.

The kicker is the Insurance Company currently is only paying $5,000 for the entire kitchen replacement. My estimate for this kitchen portion alone is close to $26,000 in damages.
