Orchids are among my favorite flowers and here in Florida, they are so easy to grow. They love the humidity and all of the summer showers! Naturally, they need plenty of shade but what better place to grow orchids than either under trees or out on the balconyWhile at the farmer's market today at the Wagon Wheel Flea Market, we spotted these orchids for sale. So many beautiful plants and I always need to bring a new one home. Just one more reason why I love living here in the Sunshine State!

There is nothing like fresh coconut water on a hot summer day and today while at the farmer's market I purchased one to cool off. The vendor cut the top and put a straw right into this fresh Florida coconut. It was the perfect drink to pick me up again since it was getting pretty warm out there! YUM, nothing like fresh Florida coconut water.

Wall Springs Park in beautiful Palm Harbor Florida has wonderful news: the park's observation tower is being rebuilt.Back in September 2013 a 'mysterious' early morning fire destroyed this beloved observation tower that looks out over St Joseph's Sound. The park service offered a reward but never found out who was responsible for this tragic loss to the park. For two years, the public has waited and wondered when our tower would be rebuilt. I am so pleased to announce that work is progressing once again on the observation tower in Wall Springs Park and the Palm Harbor Florida residents will soon be able to enjoy the views from the new tower. It is the best place to take photographs of the bayou and waterways meandering around and through Wall Springs Park, as well as getting fantastic v...

Wall Springs Park in Palm Harbor Florida was absolutely beautiful this morning. It is actually remarkably beautiful all of the time. From the boardwalks that go around the spring itself to the observation tower, hiking trails, fishing piers, playgrounds for the little ones, grilling areas with covered pavilions to the fact that the Pinellas Trail goes right past the park, this is one of my favorite places to walk to during the early morning hours. If you are in the Palm Harbor or Crystal Beach area, be sure to check out Wall Springs Park in Palm Harbor Florida, just west of Alternate 19. It is a little piece of paradise that has been preserved for the enjoyment of all.

Mama Gator is indeed back at John Chesnut Park in Palm Harbor Florida. It is nesting season once again and this mama has her eggs already tucked away in the mulch covered nest. Can you see her? Her snout is behind the fern and you can see her eyes watching! The park service has put up a fence to keep people away but I managed to get this photo between the spaces in the fence.John Chesnut Park in Palm Harbor Florida is one of my favorite places for an early morning walk before starting the day!

What could be better for a Sunday breakfast than grubs? This little guy, who was out for breakfast with his sister (or brother) looks like he just can't get enough grubs. We spotted him in John Chesnut Park this morning and I just had to get a photo since it was such a young armadillo. We see them often when out for walks in local parks and that is where I like to see them......not in my garden at home!

John Chesnut Park in Palm Harbor Florida is located on the eastern side of lovely Lake Tarpon and is always a great location for a stroll. That is exactly what we did this morning. Since there has been so much rain lately, we wanted to get out but did not want to deal with puddles, so we chose a drive to the park to walk the boardwalks.Since it was already close to 9 am by the time we got there, the deer were already in hiding. You have to be there early, when the park opens, to see the dozen or so deer that call John Chesnut Park their home.It seems mama gator has set up her nest once again this year in the same location as last year and the park rangers have fencing and signage up once again. If you live in the Palm Harbor Florida area or are considering relocating here, be sure to che...

John Chesnut Park - Palm Harbor, FL John Chesnut Park is one of the most interesting parks in our area and we go often. Yesterday, our classic car club – AACA-Richey Region had it’s annual picnic there. We had a great time as usual and there was plenty to eat. I did a blog about the park a couple of years back showing an alligator video swimming down the boat ramp. Click here to see it.John Chesnut Park is in Pinellas County just a little south of the Pasco-Pinellas line on the eastern end of Lake Tarpon. It is a beautiful park and we had a visit from a friendly gator who was swimming by. He was enjoying Sunday In John Chesnut Park too. The park has a wonderful picnic area with covered benches and a grill at each spot. We had a great time with our AACA-Richey Region buddies.Pinellas park...

I have to ask: WHY do we have grass lawns? Looking toward California as a prime example of what may be coming to many states, why do people still want to have grass lawns? Wouldn't it be easier and far more beautiful to have wildflowers growing or using the space to grow your own veggies? I have seen so many homes lately that have beautiful gardens growing where there was once a lawn. Unfortunately, you need to be in a community that is not deed restricted to be able to grow those tomatoes and other delicious vegetables in your own yard but many communities are indeed not deed restricted. Years ago I lived in a deed restricted community where the local gestapo had a fit when I put in fruit trees. I did not get board approval. My years living there were numbered from that point on and I ...

The appraisal is taking place this coming Monday and I will be there for my buyers, with comps in hand! I am always amazed at how many buyer's agents do not meet the appraiser and have comps to turn over. While many appraisers don't use the Realtor provided comps, at least I know I did my best to bring the purchase to the closing table for my clients.

Fish for dinner - it is a hard life we lead here in Palm Harbor Florida! Imagine being 'forced' to fish for dinner and have fresh fish whenever you wanted it, year round. That is what we have to endure.... Ronnie caught this fine trout and it was dinner yesterday with leftovers tonight. It really doesn't get much better! If you are ready to leave the snow behind and relocate to where the sun almost always shines and you can fish year round, give me a call today. Palm Harbor Florida has some of the best schools in the state. Perhaps that is why families are always calling about relocating to our area.

Did I mention that Spring is here? It arrived a few weeks ago down here in the Palm Harbor Florida area! We are indeed blessed to have such wonderful weather! The only other state that can compare is Hawaii and it is much more expensive to live in that island paradise! By the way, that orchid is from an orchid tree! They love the Spring weather here in Palm Harbor Florida!

Palm Harbor Florida - The inspection is complete and we are on the the closing table for this lovely waterfront single family home in Palm Harbor Florida's little town of Ozona. Now that the inspection is completed, the buyers are having a general contractor come in to begin the process of drawing up plans for a few changes they want completed prior to moving into their new home. They have even moved up the closing date, so the contractor can get to work sooner. If you are looking to purchase in Palm Harbor Florida and the surrounding area, give us a call today to begin your search. If you have a home to sell in the area, we would love to provide you with a free market report and discuss how we would market your home for sale!
