Question: I live in a modest home in Spring Hill, FL with my girlfriend. When my exgirlfriend (who I lived with when I bought the home) and I seperated my current girlfriend gave her $38,900.00 for her interest in the home. Now my current girlfriend is worried that if something happens to me her interest are not protected. I'm pretty sure she could not be added to the mortgage because of her credit history. What can I do to ensure that she would be able to continue to live in the house should something happen to me?
I'm single and the house is in my name only. I do, however, have several childern who could potentially challange her for the property.
