Slideways - Great Food in Hapeville Slideways is located in downtown Hapeville at the intersection of Virginia Avenue and Main Street just steps from the train tracks.  I had been wanting to check this place out for months, and I finally had a moment to drop on.  And I am glad I did stop in.   Slideways served some of the best sliders you have ever wanted to try.  Thus far I have enjoyed the barbecue beef brisket slider, the fish and chips slider, the chicken and waffle slider, and the classic cheesebuger slider.  Top quality, fresh ingredients go into bit of food served at Slideways.  Along with a side of lightly bread onion rings and a glass of really great tea.  We folks in Georgia do enjoy our iced sweet tea.  Extra lemon for me. We have been hearing about the deal that Porsche struck with Georgia to build a local plant in Atlanta for a few years now.  Well today there is some fresh daylight to whole deal.  Porsche broke ground on the new development today.  Lots of happy smiling faces as Hapeville expects to receive some 400 jobs (100 of them new) from the Porsche plant.  The Porsche plant will also have a one point six mile test track (I'm looking forward to taking a test drive on the track), and a new training facility. Residents and business owners are very excited about the promise of the new Porsche plant and the economic boost it will bring to the area.  The loss of the Ford plant was extremely devastating to the economy of the South Atlanta region.  Now Porsche looks to replace that void as soon as const... 11/27/2012

Today I had the most wonderful plate of homestyle potatoes and a gyro wrap from Grecian Gyro in Hapeville.  Their motto is 'Once a Week Go Greek With Grecian Gyro' and they have served up great greek food to residents of Hapeville and the surrounding area for twenty nine years.  Talk about weathering the changes in the economy!!!  The hostess/cashier is very excited about celebrating 30 years in 2012 this time next year.    Grecian Gyro features a menu of gyro wraps and platters with a choice of lamb, chicken or beef.  Or you can go vegetarian and skip the meat altogether.  The Greek salads are also excellent, and the dressings are yummy.   The cook and I struck up a conversation, and I talked about being in real estate and working the local market.  It turns out that he used to work in... 09/28/2011

If you live in the Roswell area you know that there is a lot of history here. Settled by Roswell King and others during the ending days of the Cherokee Nation and the height of the first GOLD Rush. There was actually at US Mint in Dahlonega for awhile. Invaded during the "War Between the State". (That's what we call the Civil War down here.) All the way up to its links to the Roosevelt presidential family. Well local historians are still researching our history and continue to bring it to life with lectures and at the many historic sights in the area.
