Last nights fireworks were spectacular.Tons of locals enjoyed the carnival like atmosphere. There was face painting, slides for the kids, fire trucks for them to get in, and plenty of food and good company. Check out the pics and future video of last nights event.

First Baptist Snellville is hosting an American Festival. There are activities for all ages including a car show. Last years event drew thousands of people. My family and I had a great time last year. The festival lasts from 5-10 p.m. See you there.

I wandered out to look at some investment properties this afternoon… One of the properties was priced at $29,000… in a neighborhood of $100,000+ homes. In fact, this very home had sold for over $110,000 in the last couple of years.
Could it be overpriced at $29,000?

Question: I've been looking at $150K - $210K homes in the Brookwood, Shiloh and Parkview H.S. areas for the last year or so. Has anyone else noticed the quality of homes in this area/price range has seemingly decreased? I am not seeing as many nice homes in this area/price range as I did last year. Are housing prices going back up already in this area? Has anyone else noticed this?

Question: Moved out of state for a new job and put home in Snellville, Ga on the market. Has been on the market 3/4 months and got an offer but it is much lower than my asking price and I would have to take a hit of 15K at closing - I was hoping to break even at least or perhaps take a small hit. Is it worth my while selling at a loss or should I hang on? Do I get any tax advantages if I take a loss? I am currently able to continue paying mortgage and my rent in new state but obviously would like to sell in order to take advantage of the opportunities in my new state (Ca) where housing prices have fallen. Thanks.
