Hoakalei is a new community built by Haseko in Ewa Beach. In this master-planned community, there were (and still are) lofty ambitions. There was originally going to be a man-made marina, similar to either Hawaii Kai or Ko Olina. However, last year, it was announced the water feature will now be a lagoon, similar to Magic Island in Honolulu, which could be used for recreational use.

In addition to the lagoon, thee is already an Ernie Els signature golf course at Hoakalei. New homes and condos were moving briskly during the peak of the market. However, when the market started to turn Haseko put on the brakes like so many other home builders in the nation. Now that demand is starting to catch up, there is little new construction available (especially for the townhome products). The good news is there are resales that are available on the market as well.

If you can't wait to get your hands on a new home at Hoakalei in Ewa Beach, the neighboring community of Ocean Pointe has similar architecture and finishes, however just a little bit older. With Oahu's median sales price now at $664,000, both Hoakalei and Ocean Pointe offer a great value as far as newer construction and price per square foot.

Another positive note is that since homes have been built at Hoakalei, Fort Weaver Road (the main artery into and out of Ewa Beach) has been expanded from 2 lanes to 3 lanes. I wanted to see how things were coming along in the first Village
being developed at Hoakalei in Ewa Beach and I'm glad to report
that things are coming along swimmingly! The biggest change I
noticed since the last time I had stopped by was the change in
the Ernie Ells' signature golf course. The second thing I noticed
was great incentives that are being offered:

2,383 sq ft. The price range of the Milo models begin at $631,990 and go up to

The Banyan series - (the 50's) has 3 models to choose from. Perhaps a 4 bedroom with a loft or a 5 bedroom with a courtyard or just a 5 bedroom

feet and goes up to 2,977 feet and the prices  range from $749,990 to
$797,990. 

Lastly, the Koa series -(the 60's) range from 2,901 feet to 3,550 feet.
These are the models that are available with or without a golf course view.
Prices range from $906,900 to  $996,900 or from $1,026,990 to $1,091,375
with a view of the Ernie Ells signature golf course. These lots are still
available and if you've found it hard to find a home that had the space and
amenities that you thought you'd find here, these may be exactly what
you've been looking for.

What I like the most about Ka Makana is that not only are the homes
fabulous but the life experience has been emphasized. As the area is
completed, there will be walking trails, green space and that peaceful
feeling that is accomplished when you feel that you love where you live.
