Hoakalei is a new
community built by Haseko in Ewa Beach. In this master-planned
community, there were (and still are) lofty ambitions. There was
originally going to be a man-made marina, similar to either Hawaii
Kai or Ko Olina. However, last year, it was announced the water
feature will now be a lagoon, similar to Magic Island in Honolulu,
which could be used for recreational use.

In addition to the lagoon, thee is already an Ernie Els
signature golf course at Hoakalei. New homes and condos were moving
briskly during the peak of the market. However, when the market
started to turn Haseko put on the brakes like so many other home
builders in the nation. Now that demand is starting to catch up,
there is little new construction available (especially for the
townhome products). The good news is there are resales that are
available on the market as well.
If you can't wait to get your hands on a new home at Hoakalei in
Ewa Beach, the neighboring community of Ocean
Pointe has similar architecture and finishes, however just a
little bit older. With Oahu's median sales price now at $664,000,
both Hoakalei and Ocean Pointe offer a great value as far as
newer
construction and price per square foot.

Another positive note is that since homes have been built at
Hoakalei, Fort Weaver Road (the main artery into and out of Ewa
Beach) has been expanded from 2 lanes to 3 lanes. The future is

There are also developer units still available that are not in MLS.

I wanted to see how things were coming along in the first
Village
being developed at Hoakalei in Ewa Beach and I'm glad to report
that things are coming along swimmingly! The biggest change I

What I like the most about Ka Makana is that not only are the
