Awesome fish taco from Island Taco at the Haiku Marketplace, Haiku Maui HI 96708 I finally got a chance to try the fish tacos which I have heard about at the Island Taco stand in Haiku. The new owners Ron and Cici have really made it look nice and there's tables to sit and eat your taco if you're not in a hurry to get to the beach. They are in the parking lot of the Haiku Marketplace in downtown Haiku Maui, where Haiku Road meets Kokomo Road.
It's wonderful that there are so many good choices for lunch or dinner nowadays in Haiku Maui. The Island Taco stand is open Tuesday - Saturday, from 11-4, and stays open until 7 on Wednesdays. You can also find them in Makawao for the Third Friday Celebration each month (on the night of the third Friday!), where they set up on Baldwin Ave right in the heart of town. Bring your appetite and try one or two of the tacos... fish, chicken or pork, with all the good fixings.
