The Oahu real estate market had some very positive news in 2011. The number of condo sales in Waikiki is up 10.7% over 2010, and the average sales price is up 5.4%.  The days on market are down 16.7% which means that properties are selling quicker than they were in the previous year. The number of available condos on all of Oahu is at the lowest it’s been since 2005.

There are a number of things to consider when thinking about buying and owning a vacation rental property on Oahu. These properties can include Condos, Condo Hotels, as well as Luxury Homes.

Condos and Condo Hotels: Some believe that condos that allow daily rental, such as Condo Hotels (also known as Condotels), provide the greatest income potential, but are labor intensive.
