My Favorite Honolulu Neighborhoods:  Palolo, in the Diamond Head Region Palolo is a quiet residential neighborhood in a valley that’s roughly 2,500 acres bordered by Waialae Avenue in the Kaimuki neighborhood. Palolo is also nearly adjacent east to the Manoa Valley. Filled with lush green vegetation, some of the most expensive homes in Oahu are located here with terrific ocean and hillside views. My Favorite Honolulu Neighborhoods:  Waialae Golf Course, in the Diamond Head Region Waialae Golf Course offers some of the best golf course homes on Oahu. My Favorite Honolulu Neighborhoods:  Paiko Lagoon, in the Diamond Head Region Paiko Lagoon was originally a coastal fishpond, fed by a fresh water spring and the Kuliouou stream. The lagoon water level varies with the tides and will occasionallydisplay saltwater mud flats. You will find roughly 20 ocean front homes here and another 11 on the lagoon. Paiko Beach is a narrow strip of sand that almost disappears at high tide. There is a shallow coral reef in front, so swimming is only fair here. It’s a better spot to kayak or fish. Also, some surfers paddle out from Paiko Beach to reach the waves of Paikos and other surf spots that are located at the outer edge of the reef. My Favorite Honolulu Neighborhoods:  Manoa Manoa Valley, home to the University of Hawaii, is a gorgeous lush green suburban neighborhood in the heart of Honolulu, close to downtown Honolulu and Ala Moana. One of the nicest areas near town, the area offers lots of charm, has a bit of a tropical feel, as well as above average rains, due to it’s higher elevation. Manoa homes are typically older, some with classic, tudor or Victorian architecture and many are on larger lots with huge trees and lush mountain views. Kakaako Condo Project would Include Hawaii’s Tallest Building According to "Pacific Business News" online, "The state plans to issue a request for proposals in January for a developer to build two residential towers in Honolulu’s Kakaako neighborhood, one of which would be the tallest building in Hawaii. The plans for 690 Pohukaina call for one tower with 300 affordable for-sale units and a second tower with 500 market-priced units. The second tower would be 650 feet high, nearly 250 feet taller than the First Hawaiian Center.
