For the second year in a row, Taste of Home Magazineis bringing their Cooking School to the Star Plaza Theatre in Merrillville, Indiana. Tickets are on sale now for the cooking school held on Monday, October 12, 2009.
I attended this last year and I'm looking forward to going again

We've Blogged about the Town of Merrillville Indiana before. This Lake County, Indiana town - with it's proximity to Chicago-land by Expressway or Skyway, makes it convenient for commute to work in the neighboring state of Illinois, yet pay less taxes.

Question: My wife and I are actively searching for homes in NW Indiana. Since the majority of the homes that we are looking at are forclosures, we are having the homes inspected prior to purchase agreements. (They are sold "as is") We have run into listing agents who will not allow it. Is this some kind of law? Why wouldn't an agent allow a perspective buyer to have an inspection prior to a binding agreement?
