Our weely market report takes us to the heart of New Orleans as we
take a peak at the Mid-CIty neighborhood. It's another area
where property values are on the rise and are moving at a
significant rate to boot. Almost a $30/square foot sold difference
between the 12-month and 3-month marks. Another interesting trend
is that the houses not selling are averaging $153/sq.ft. This could
be for several reasons (location, condition misrepresentation,
floor plan or a variety of other factors.)
Feel free to let me know if you have any questions about the above
information. Also, I'm more than happy to assist you in purchasing
or selling a home should it be your service area.
Here's a look at the schedule for our upcoming market reports
for Orleans Parish.
Feb. 28 - Warehouse District
Mar. 7 - Garden District
Mar. 14 - Broadmoor

Parkway Bakery &
Tavern Po-Boy Restaurant
Parkway Bakery &
Tavern has been in the “poor boy” making business
in New Orleans, Louisiana since the 1950′s and is a local spot that
attracts celebrities, as well as our Commander and Chief! There are
po-boy connoisseurs that would rank Parkway as the #1 place to get
a roast beef and gravy or shrimp po-boy in town. This humble Mid
City establishment won Best of New Orleans in
2011.
Many of
the top poboy establishments in the city are closed on Sundays and
that is how our course got directed away from Guy’s Uptown, over
to Mid City’s Parkway poboy shop. The wife and kids and I had been
running errands all morning and were ready for a big ole NOLA style
lunch. As we pulled up to the curb in front of the restaurant on a
rainy Sunday afternoon, we were surprised to see how busy the place
was. I began to get excited, thinking to myself that if this many
people were willing to brave the weather for sandwich, then this
place had to be good!
Parkway
did not dissappoint our taste buds! My wife and I both got hot
roast beef and gravy po-boys, an order of fries and bread pudding,
smothered in whiskey sauce, to share with Cooper and Cameron. The
food was terrific and I would definitely recommend Parkway Bakery
& Tavern to anyone looking for a delicious New Orleans style po-boy, and don’t get discouraged if
there is a long order line, as it moves fast and is well worth the
wait!

My neighborhood, the Farigrounds Triangle recently held its
Night Out Against Crime and it was a great success. So many
neighbors and even homeowners with rental property in the
area braved the heat to join the fun and discuss important
safety issues and ideas.
Thanks to the Farigrounds Triangle Neighborhood Association for
all the effort. It was fantastic. Sorry for the grainy picture from
my camera phone!
