Autumn Adventure in Amherst, MA Summit of Mt. Norwottuck New England gleams in autumn, and this past weekend some friends and I spent the day in Amherst, MA. We first took a hike up Mt. Nortwottuck, a mountain located in the Mt. Holyoke Range.  We started at the Notch Visitors Center and took a 3.5 mile loop on the Robert Frost and Metacomt-Mattabessett trails, a moderate hike with elevation of about 1000 feet - not too strenuous.   Horse Caves This route took us through a glorious rock overhang called Horse Caves, where we squeezed through this notch on the way to the summit.Once at the top of Mt.
