In 1951, Carmon Robert Naples MD (a Doctor practicing in Silver Spring)and his wife Eleanor E Naples purchased a 237 acre farm with a circa 1860's farm house from the Bonifant Family. The old farm house, on a little over 3 acres was sold as a residence and still stands as a private residence on Bonifant Road today.  Some of the acreage was sold to the Maryland National Capitol Park and Planning Commission for conservation of Northwest Branch Park.
