There was a time when the average cost of a home in Bozeman was in the $200,000 range. And while those “good old days” seem like a distant memory, it’s hard to believe that it was just five years ago. Oh, how times have changed in Bozeman real estate!Five years ago, the average sold price of a single-family home in Bozeman was just below $275,000. Montana State University's architecture students must have been inspired by the "Tiny House Builders" T.V. show recently, because they're taking concepts from the show to build "Small Shelters" for the homeless. After a class with MSU's architecture professor, and cooperation with Bozeman's Human Resources Development Council Small Shelter Initiative (HRDC), the students built two prototypes for their "Small Shelter" concept.They built two full-size models, one large and one small. With all this growth in the Bozeman area, city and county officials are looking to upgrade their law and justice center to accommodate for the larger population. At the discretion of the county’s voters, the construction of a new facility is proposed for $71.5 million. The petitioned project is designed with two buildings, one would be a 61,300-square-foot law enforcement building, and the other would be a 126,000-square-foot courts building.
