Does anyone ever check on you, to see how your journey in life is going?  Do you have others who check on you from time to time?  I call others to check on others, from time to time.  If they pick up and chat, that is great.  If, they do not pick up to chat, that is fine as well.  I just call others to let him or her know that he or she is in my thoughts and prayers.  I do not call anyone to sell anything. There are people that I do not call anymore who have used me and taken advantage of my kindness and I have had to set boundaries.  Why do people not pick up the phone like they used to?  Probably because people are tired of sales calls and tired of all the asking of donating this or that.  I get it.  There are days that I want my peace as well.  We are all on a journey.  Some feel so ...

January 27, 2014 by Eleanor Thorne Leave a Comment  The USDA Home Loan NC Program has been fixin’ to get ready to change the USDA Loan Eligibility Map in our state for two years.  The potential changes to the USDA Loan Eligibility Map for Burlington and Mebane NC have currently been delayed until the end of September 2014.  Why is this such a big deal?  Because USDA Home Loans are no down payment required, low closing cost loans available to anyone who is willing to live in a more “rural” NC setting. The Three Items Needed To Qualify for USDA Loan in Burlington NC   To qualify for a USDA Loan in Mebane NC or Burlington NC you need to have a household income lower than the limit in that area.  The current USDA Home Loan Income limit for a family of four in the Burlington area is $74,750....

Burlington, North Carolina is the perfect place to make good use of the $8,000 tax credit available to first-time homebuyers.  What are you waiting for?   Burlington, North Carolina is located between the Triangle area of Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill and the metropolitan area of Greensboro.  Commuting to either area is accessible via I40/85, the home prices are very reasonable and there is a varied selection of homes to choose from in order to take advantage of the tax credit!      Whether you want new construction in the suburbs (Graham, Elon, Gibsonville, Whitsett) or a pre-owned home in an established neighborhood, there are homes available that, combined with the tax credit, can make your dreams of homeownership come true!   There is plenty of shopping – both chain stores and local bu...

Have you ever heard of The Nester?  Well, if not, get out from under that rock and check out her uber-popular blog, The Nesting Place, which she formed off the mantra that "it doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful."  Not only does she have cute, creative, and economical decorating ideas, but she frequently blogs about the importance of staging your home for sale.  Staging isn't about redecorating your home, but it is about using your own things to help your home put its best face forward and appeal to the largest number of buyers.  We believe if you don't make some efforts to stage your home to sell, then you're just selling your neighbor's house first.  Check out Nester's latest installment in her staging series:  http://nestingplacenc.blogspot.com/2009/03/staging-your-home-for-s...

"Just tell me the truth Elizabeth, screamed the caller. Can I get this for my home right now? Can I EVER get this price for our home. If so, you just come and stick the sign in the yard and we will sign papers RIGHT NOW!" That was the 1st caller... 10 minutes later... "Elizabeth! Our tax revaluation came in the mail. We are so excited. Can you just tell us if it is correct because we are refinancing and hope to pull the equity to pay off debt." 5 minutes later...one is happy - one is sad and again and again the phone rang ALL week! Now, do not get this wrong. I have loved the calls and added at least 20 new contacts to the database of new clients this week based on reevaluations and heard from clients that I have not chatted with in a while...The perfect chance to talk about the recent...

Are you the Driver or the Passenger in your Life?             It is your choice!   Are you oblivious to your destination? You are a passenger. Do you accept responsibility for the amount of speed in which you move ahead? You are a Driver. Do you sit and watch the direction in which you are going? You are a Passenger. Do you focus on the final destination?  You are a Driver. There is not a lot of space between the drivers seat and the passengers seat. The cloth or leather may even be the same but the seat you choose in life has a major difference in the outcome of your life! The passenger in life will just follow along and go where driven. The driver sets the course and is in control! I think most REALTORS are drivers but for some reason in 2008 many chose to ride in the passenger seat! ...

Tip #34 from Blog: 100 Marketing Tips to Launch Success in 2009!   34) Check with your lenders in the area and see if they offer any service provider loans. Share these plans with the teachers, police, fireman etc..and be their source or connection for buying or selling!    QUOTED FROM SUSAN BOYER, SellState Classic Realty, Round Rock, TX I love the one...I'll have to go back and check the #....to go to the schools, firehouse, etc. and take them treats...that is wonderful, especially with the great financing we have in place for the Teachers, Firemen, Police and Emergency Workers. Did you know that if someone from one of these professions wins a bid on a HUD home (if they are going to actually live in it - not as investment property) they only pay 50% of what the winning bid is?  Most o...

This post is about customer service. It's not all about Real Estate. It's not all about 'our business'. It's about CUSTOMER SERVICE.   I have recently been blessed to have received some of the absolute best CUSTOMER SERVICE.   A couple of weeks ago I needed to purchase some ink cartridges for my printer. Simple enough task, some would say. And being slightly unfamiliar (still) with my new area I made a trip to Burlington, NC and discovered a wonderful little shop called Rapid Refill.   This little store has all the cartridges you could ever want. I didn't remember the exact cartridge numbers, so the clerk looked it up for me by my printer model. Unfortunately, I received the wrong cartridges but didn't realize it till a couple weeks passed. I took the cartridges back to the store and wa...

I have such great respect for AR and hope that by sharing this out of the box site that you will not be offended! However, I bet you need a laugh and this site had me and my husband rolling. Everyone that I have shared it with has told me the same thing. It made them just laugh! I know you just do not have that much time on your hands to be playing around. I agree...I do not either but please...I beg you! Take just five minutes and plug in a picture into this time machine and see if you just do not roll out of your chair! I am NOT affiliated with this site in any way shape or form so know that this is not a W.I.F.M blog - (What Is in it For Me) - ya know those blogs that are trying to sell you something. You and I have read them, I have even been guilty of writing one or two myself but ...

Oh BOY! The cat is now out of the bag! My assistant has taken a leap and joined AR! Is this a good or bad thing? I am sure it will be good because she is an excellent writer and you will find her to give you some sincere advice! The bad - well- that would be that she knows all of the good and bad on me! Does every top producer that has an assistant feel the same way? She can tell you all kinds of things! They know our mood by the tone of our voice and do they may cringe when they see us call! They may dread the files we dump on their desk! All in all they are still there for us! Our right arms and they know it ALL! The Good - The Bad - The ugh ugh - UUUGGGLYYY! Oh my! So with the Good - Bad and I hope not too often ugly I would like to introduce my AR family to MY RIGHT ARM! I really do...

I know there is a time and a place for everything! I know that sometimes it is best to keep silent and just watch and listen and then there was this one time four months ago I had to speak up! Let me explain: Just a few days ago, I saw Angela Hunter as I was visiting my children's school. Angela is a friend and an agent from my office. As I saw her across the room I could tell that she was anxious to see me. As her eyes caught mine it was not just the normal hey - hello smile. She quickly came over to me, grabbed me and gave me an enormous hug. Then, the hug was not just a simple hug. She squeezed me and as she let go she looked me right in my eyes and gave me the most shocking line I have ever heard: YOU SAVED MY LIFE! Of course I was stunned and just looked at her in disbelief. She wa...

IS there really a pie in the sky? Is there ever easy money?  Another wall of words to ponder over! I have heard it again & again...Maybe because when Donald gave a green light to MLM - the world looked less at MLM as a TABOO and more of it as a business tool! Still, when hearing MLM by the investor of all times & money maker real estate man himself - THE DONALD TRUMP  we have to ask...is it his comments or just hard times that everyone is jumping in, on or around some form of MLM or Network Marketing plan in the search for success?   Now, if you are a successful sales agent or maybe even if you are not so successful sales agent you have probably been approached more times than you can remember to "Meet someone to show you something" or "You have to see this new product" or "please come ...

I have never written a blog before but thought I would try it out since I've been hearing more and more about blogs lately.  Lilly and I have noticed some changes and slow down in the Alamance County market over the last several months.  We have more than one listing that we really feel is priced where it should be for this market but we are not getting any showings.  It has been a bit frustrating but we know things will pick back up.  We want so badly for our Selling Clients to be able to move on to their next phase in life and we sometimes feel like we are the constant messengers of frustrating news to them.  New constructions seems to still be a factor in our market as well.  The existing homes are taking longer and longer to sell as the new builders are offering incredible incentive...
