News from RealtyTrac shows that Mecklenburg County tops North Carolina foreclosure filings for 3rd quarter 2010 with 3,388 filings.  One in every 119 housing units received a foreclosure filing in this period, which is 2.7 times the state average. To put things in perspective, North Carolina contributed less than 1% of the nation's foreclosure total for the third quarter. Mortgage Rates in Charlotte, NC have taken a beating this past week.  Since the Federal Reserve announced plans to print $600 Billion new dollars and buy US Treasuries in an attempt to spur on the economy, mortgage rates in Charlotte and throughout the Carolina's have jumped from the historic lows we saw before the Fed Meeting.  30 Year fixed rate mortgages are still insanely low, in the mid 4% range for most people.  Last week, rates briefly dropped below 4% for the first time ever, but that was short lived as mortgage bond traders started to worry about the inflation that the Fed will be printing over the next 6-8 months. Volatility is still extremely high with rates changing as much as 0.5% during a 1 hour appointment, like happened yesterday.  Interest rate quotes are only good the ...

Should bathroom exhaust fans, be exhausted to the attic or out side of the home?How many times have you seen or noticed that Exhaust Fans are running but not Exhausting?  Have you ever tried the toilet paper test?  The Toilet Paper test is putting up Toilet Paper to the exhaust fan and seeing if it will hold the toilet papger up or not?  If, it does not hold the toilet paper up, this means that is is possibly not exhausting to either the attic or out side of the home.  Check to see if there is an obstruction in the line if it is not exhausting.  Many of times I find that there is an obstruction in the exhaust line and it just needs to be cleaned out as well as the motor cleaned up with the fan blades cleaned up.  The bathroom is one of the places to have high humidity if a shower or bat...
