Question: Hi all,
I have a situation I'm not sure how to deal with. I am attempting to buy a short sale (I understand it's a lengthy and complicated process), I immediately got a real estate agent who was very quick to call me back and answer all my questions. It's been 2 months since we submitted the short sale package and my agent has become less and less communicative. When I email him it takes at least 24 hours to get back to me, on 3 occasions he didn't answer me questions at all. When he does answer my emails he usually just says "I'll call you today" but then doesn't call for 2 days or I finally call him. And overall I just get the feeling from him that I'm bothering him or wasting his time. I know there's not much news and I'm sure I ask some stupid questions but I feel he should at least acknowledge them but it's really hit or miss. He also is selling our house, he listed it right away had a bunch of offers, and accepted one within 10 days of listing. I told our agent to make sure the buyer knew we were waiting on a short sale and he said he told them that. It took a month to work out the wording of the contract and 1 day into attorney review the buyer backed out because he didn't know if he wanted to wait! Now we're stuck with the attorney fees! Our real estate agent is very quick to go to our lawyer and we've racked up an 800$+ lawyer bill on a house we may never get! There just seems to be a lot of miscommunications happening on all ends... I don't know if this is normal for a short sale or if I'm getting bad advice. Can a professional please shed some light on my situation? I'm thinking of just finding out if I can get the seller's agent (they are in the same office) to work with me and cut out my agent. I think I should have done that in the first place...
