Gary J Rocks (Werner Realty)
Have you been watching the news lately? Floods all around the Bound Brook Area, devastation hit all parts of New Jersey, Ogdensburg and surrounding area's received over 8" of rain in a 36 hour period of time! A Time for renewed prayer, how many people prayed to the all mighty that he would let it stop raining. God Opened up the Sky and out poured the rain. I was one of those people bailing out my basement and praying for a miracle. All three pumps where going full blast, people in my neighborhood banded together and made sure everyone was taken care of. See we don't live in a flood zone but on top of a mountain and all around us the ground is rock about two feet past the dirt. So when it rains hard the rain has nowhere to go but, in your basement. Everyone, you could see in their own way was praying for a miracle, during this time I couldn't help to think back when I was a kid and remembering my mom telling me that when it is pouring outside really hard that God is crying, he cry's for our sins. I couldn't help to think wow! we must have some real sinners around here for God to let this happen to us? Then when I finally got things under control and could go inside the house to get warm and watch the news channel to see if we could expect more rain, I saw the news of the terrible tragedy of what was going on in Virgina at Virgina Tech and how all those students where shot, and then realizing that all those tears that God was giving us was for all those students and their families. Imagine the agony and suffering of such a tragedy and never having the opportunity to hold and hug their loved ones again. I now contemplate my earlier thoughts and realize that we all received our miracle that day, a reminder of how precious life can be. God made us all band together that day, and just maybe elsewhere people all around banded together and not only shared their tears of sorrow for those families but, banded together and became loving neighbors once again. Life is too short to have hatred in your hearts, love is better! To all those families of the Virgina Tech students my prayers are with you. |
