The Columbus Circle Holiday Market

Located at 59th Street across from Columbus Circle on Central West is one of the best places for holiday shopping and eating in all of Manhattan.

Over 100 local small businesses come together to form what has become an outdoor fair with some of the best local artisans, baker's, gift shops and New York vendors. 

One of a few outdoor holiday market's in Manhattan, The Columbus Circle Holiday market has what I consider the best location.  Right at the entrance of Central Park on 59th Street and Central Park West, you can shop, eat and entertain yourself and then walk right into Central Park.

You will find a wide variety of shopping opportunities within the holiday market.  An eclectic mix of vendors will give you the ability to buy for just about anybody on your shopping list and you can snack on some delicious food in the meantime.

Tatzu Nishi: Discovering Christopher Columbus | Columbus Circle,  New York City

A few weeks ago at Columbus Circle, I noticed that the monument to Christopher Columbus is shrouded in scaffolding. This has been built for a dual purpose -- beginning in November, it will be used so that conservators can clean and restore the 120-year-old monument. But until then, the area atop the scaffold has been transformed by artist Tatzu Nishi into a living room where you can see the Columbus statue up close and personal.

The installation runs through November 18. Admission is free, but timed tickets are required and can be requested at http://www.publicartfund.org/ or on the third floor of the Time Warner Center

The monument is located in the center of Columbus Circle at the intersection of Eighth Avenue, Broadway, Central Park South (West 59 Street), and Central Park West. It is the point from which all official distances from New York City are measured.

Glorious Summer day in Manhattan New York.

We will be out showing some properties to buyers and enjoy the weather, Sunday is one of the busiest day for us in Manhattan New York, there are many open houses only one hour or so slots, so in order to see as many as possible, we have to move quickly from one neighborhood to the next!

Upper West Side Condo-Time Warner Center
