Once again the elves on the Rockville Centre St. Patrick's Parade Committee will set out to break the Official Guinness World Record for the most number of elves in one location. Rockville Centre's 23rd Annual Halloween Costume parade and Party are Sunday, October 27th. Youngsters pre-K and up, their parents and families are invited to join the parade which starts from the Parking Field #12 at 2 p.m. and proceeds down Long Beach Road to the Recreation Center.  At the Center there will be games, fun and prizes for the costumed marchers. Everyone must register for the parade and/or party at the Center for $8 per family. In case of rain the parade is canceled but the party will begin at 3 p.m at the Recreation Center on Oceanside Road in Rockville Centre. 10/09/2013

  There is a new restaurant in Rockville Centre NY called GM Burger Bar.  It is located at 209 N. Long Beach Road, Rockville Centre NY. We ate there last week and I cannot praise the establishment enough.  It has a great variety of pub style food and a varied beer and wine menu.  The beer choices were so interesting, I actually wished I was a beer drinker.  The wine list and mixed drinks were great too.   The Rockville Centre Parks and Recreation Department and the Police Department, in cooperation with the Rockville Centre P.T.A., will again offer the Cycle with Care program at the five elementary schools during September. The inspections will take place at Wilson and Riverside schools on Tuesday, September 10; at Covert and Watson schools on Wednesday, September 11 and at Hewitt school on Thursday, September 12. Bicycle safety inspections for elementary school children is a great safety precaution. 09/05/2013
