Question: I bought a house four years ago and now I am selling it. It was just brought to my attention by the inspector for the purchaser, that there's a tiny hole in the roof above the attic. Also, a beam is broken in the same attic. Obviously, my inspector has missed that.
I spoke with someone at the builder's office and they said it's not under warranty. I also spoke with Tarrion and they said the same thing. They also said that only structural damage, like the foundation or holding beams, are covered for seven years.
Aren't all beams a part of the structure of a house? When it's very windy the house shakes a lot.
I don't have a job nor an income. That's the reason I am selling my house. I've contacted my inspector's company and informed them of the situation. The gentleman said he will get back to me when he gets back to his office.
Is it fair to me that I should have to pay to have the builder's mistake corrected. Is there anything else that I can do?
