Recently, my partner and I were contacted by a design savvy home owner who knew they would have to do some improvements and staging to get their home in the Stanley Park area of Kitchener, ready for sale. After an in depth consultation, we made a number of recommendations for their Kitchen, living areas and basement which they not only agreed to, they were excited about implementing.

Rooms in Bloom was hired to come in after they were finished upgrading things such as the kitchen countertops, painting a few of the principal rooms and changing out some of the light fixtures. Once we were done staging the home, the realtor our clients were working with came over to inspect the results and was floored. He had advised a listing price prior to our staging efforts but after touring the home, he increased the listing price by $20,000.00! Our clients were thrilled and thanked us for all our help - we LOVE it when our clients see the immediate benefits of staging!

Well, a week later we got a call from our clients and they had sold their home for 95% of the higher listing price! We love sharing success stories like this because it proves, without question, that home staging increases a home's perceived value so that buyers not only justify the asking price, they fight for the right to purchase it!

Our clients spent $1,200 on staging and $1,500 on the other upgrades in their home. The return? Another $16,000 to put towards their new home and a short, stress-free selling experience. 

As I often hear being said: "Price brings in the buyers; staging sells the home."

This house is a lovely bungalow in Stanley Park, Kitchener which we were called in to help with before it went on the market. The home owner was an older lady who had moved to a nursing home and her relatives who lived outside the country were put in charge of getting the house sold. Our first impressions of the house were a lot of wallpaper, clutter and religious items. We were hired to stage but also to manage the wallpaper removal/painting project, general repairs and to de-clutter the house.

Once done, the house was neutral and appealing to a wide range of buyers - and within 10 days a young family had snapped the house up!

Small second bedroom. This room actually contained a double bed and the larger bedroom contained this single bed. We switched them and then had all the patterned wallpaper, flowery border and religious effects taken down.

All in all, we were really pleased with how the house turned out. We believe that by removing all the wallpaper/borders and staging the home simply we allowed buyers to see the potential and charm of the home.
