May 23, 2011 JFK Walking Path & Yuengling Park Poetry Walk 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. meets in the parking lot by the swimming pool and tennis courts in Pottsville. After walking the JFK path we will car pool to Yuengling Park and share poetry. All ages welcome! Bad weather cancels the walk. If in doubt, call Marsha at 570-624-3020. The Yuengling Park is built on a site formerly owned by the Yuengling family, makers of Yuengling beer. It is the site of a fresh water mountain spring that once was a source of water for making beer, up until the 1960s. In 2000 Richard Yuengling donated the land to the city and it was turned into a city park, complete with a gazebo, stream and walking paths.
