If you been following me for any period of time you realize that this Quarryville Realtor loves to eat. That's why my monthly postal mailings, emailing and numerous postings include the recipe of the month. Knowing this, it's no wonder that the following caught my eye.   The Robert Fulton Fire Company Auxiliary will hold an all you can eat buffet breakfast on Saturday July 21st from 6 to 10:30 am. Tickets will be sold at the door. The fire hall is located at the corner of routes 272 and 222 South in Southern Lancaster County Pennsylvania. For more information call Judy Monk at 717 529-2816.   My calendar is getting full. If this Quarryville Realtor attends too many events like this one it's a good thing I've increased my work outs from three to five times a week!   Source: Quarryville A...

This Quarryville Realtor definitely wants to see history preserved and these folks do an excellent job of fulfilling that goal. The society will meet on Saturday July 21st at 1:30 pm in the archive building across from the Robert Fulton Birthplace at 1932 Fulton Highway, Quarryville, PA.   The speaker will be Randal Harris and his topic will be “The Underground Railway”. The public is invited. As a Realtor that likes to imagine himself a history buff, I may have to mark this on my calendar. Yes, I have a good imagination!   Source: Quarryville Advertiser   Check out new property listings at my web site:        http://dhess.kwrealty.com; §Find out what's happening in Quarryville, Pa by visiting Live Quarryville:    http://c04c911.activerain.com/

Since this Quarryville Realtor resides in a home built sometime between 1890 and 1900, old homes interest me. That's why I recommend attending the third Southern End House and History Tour, organized by the Southern Lancaster County Historical Society. This year the tour will focus on homes in Colerain Township with additional locations in upper and lower Oxford. The tour is set for Saturday June 2nd from 10 am to 4 pm. Two places of worship and eleven homes will be open to ticket holders that are interested in history as seen through the lens of architecture.   Tickets may be purchased the day of the tour at Union Presbyterian Church, 5637 Street Road, Kirkwood, PA. Along with the tickets the purchaser will receive a full color brochure, GPS friendly addresses and a map with all tour l...

Every now and then this Quarryville Realtor likes to share one of the recipes that I hand out to the folks in my prospecting / farming area. In the title I claimed that it was one of my town's favorites. Well maybe I can only verify that it's one of my favorites. Anyway here it is if you want to sample. Happy eating! Ranger Joe Cookies   Combine and set aside 2 cups flour, 1 tsp baking soda, ½ tsp baking powder, ½ tsp. Yet another event that this Quarryville Realtor doesn't qualify for, but believes that it is just another of many activities that make Quarryville Pennsylvania a great place to live.  While this Quarryville Realtor doesn't qualify as an attendee for this event, it still sounds interesting and informative. On Saturday March 4th at 2PM at Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church the MOPW (Middle Octorara Presbyterian Women) will hold a tea. The tea has become an annual tradition attended by as many as 150 women each year. The church is located at 1199 Valley road, four miles east of Quarryville on route 372.   The tea is an opportunity for women to share social and spiritual interaction. Attendees are invited to bring their favorite tea cups so conversations at the tables often begin with stories behind the respective cups. MOPW member Kristine Hileman said that “some women dress up with hats and others ware ordinary street cloths. Both are fine,” she adds.   Prior to sitt...

Yes, this Quarryville Realtor is on Face Book. Yes I'm on Craig's List. Yes I utilize the social media to market my business. Obviously I write for my Blog “Live Quarryville.” Yes I have multiple sources linked to and driving everything back to my web site. Yes I still do regular mailings. Having said all that I want to put in a word for what I'm calling “shoe leather technology”.   Sounds kind of strange to say something like shoe leather technology this far into the 21st Century. Look around, we have devices that even the science fiction writers and movie producers could not envision just thirty years ago. But today I utilized shoe leather technology.   It was a nice day, sunny and not too cold. It gave me the opportunity to get out and work my farming territory. I confess, winter we...
