Fleecing Homeowners One House At A Time : The Property Tax Caper By: David Saks - Broker (The Real Estate Mart of Tennessee, Inc.)

When the city or county, or both, decide to propose a new property tax hike for some reason, i.e., a new football stadium, street improvements, school board pay raises, safety and fire needs, pay raises for lazy government officials, etc., the hoi polloi will rant, rage, wail and grind teeth.

All The Way By: David Saks - Broker (The Real Estate Mart of Tennessee, Inc.)

When we transfer the ownership of a property from the seller to the buyer. and all of the terms of the contract are carried out, we call this closing.
Right ?

?
Question: My wife and I are selling our house. We got an offer and a contract was signed. The closing date came, we signed all of the appropriate paper work and moved out. Later on that day we find out that the buyers are having problems with their loan and they did not close on the house. Now we are stuck waiting and the deal may not go through. Is there something that could have been done by our real estate agent to prevent us from being put in such a bad situation?
?
Question: To get right to it. I own a lot in Memphis near Raleigh. A local bulder wants to purchase the lot. We have made an agreement (cash down and me to carry for 6 months). Can anyone recommend a good lawyer / attorney for the transfer and deed prep? Anyone info would be great! I will tell whoever I use that you referred me :) Thanks.
?
Question: I am looking to purchase some investment properties in Memphis when I come out there in 3 weeks....any suggestions on some good areas?
