I must say there are numerous reasons I am a proud Houstonian, and especially a Texan! Friendly people, great warm weather, and the daily "y'alls" I hear! One particular subject though has made me even prouder...breast cancer research or any cancer research for that matter. Having had cancer myself, watched my mother go through it, I understand the need to support research and early detection. I have personally walked the Susan G. Komen for the cure walk. I walked it with 3 of my other friends and although we trailed in last, the point is we did it to support all the women who have lost their lives to breast cancer or the women who knew a loved one that lost the battle. Houston, Texas is a great place to live! While so many markets across the country are suffering from decreasing home values and job losses, Houston is still strong. There are so many reasons to live in Houston. The people are friendly and welcoming, tons of jobs available, and huge Texas sized houses for incredible prices.
