Every springtime, I see the topic of killer bees (Africanized Honey Bees) come up as their migration continues and they proliferate further through North America.  To date, more than 100 counties in Texas, 6 in New Mexico, 14 in Arizona, 1 in Nevada, and 3 counties in California have reported Africanized honey bees. So what makes these bees so dangerous?  Many would think that maybe "killer" bees have some mechanism like poison that makes them "killer".  Actually, they are killer due to three distinct differences.1. I get asked a lot of times about investment properties in Katy Texas.  A lot of "investors" have not done their research though and do not understand that there are different types of investment properties and believe or not we have them all in Katy.1. RENTAL PROPERTY These are properties that you are going to buy to hold long term and have people pay you rent to live there.  I had someone ask me if there was a difference between a lease home and a rental home one time and of course, they are the same.  A rental home SHOULD always have a lease in place on it when occupied.  The lease outlines the terms of the agreement between the tenants and the landlord/landlady.  A common term associated with RENTAL PROPERTIES is "CASH FLOW".  Commonly you hear, "how much will it cashflow?"  Cash flo...

Katy Real Estate News -4500 Jobs May be Coming to Katy Texas via KBR KBR (formerly Kellogg, Brown and Root) may be relocating their West Houston Campus in Katy By Katy Realtor Timothy Sojka 713-822-2152 KBR may be bringing 4500 jobs to Katy.  This is more good news for Katy.  Recently sites were announced for St. Luke's Hospital, Methodist Hospital, and Texas Children's Hospital. The city of Houston has decided to make I-10 center lanes either HOV (High Occupancy Vehicles at no charge) or a toll rd for those who use the EZ Tag system. I-10 is presently being expanded to a total of 18 lanes...the four center lanes will be the HOV/Toll lanes. This proposal is somewhat controversial because the County is considering using peak hour pricing for rush hour in the morning and evening to keep the traffic flowing in the lanes. Residents have argued that they paid for the project with their taxes...and a Toll will in effect be double taxation. Either way the new eighteen lanes going from Houston to Katy will help traffic flow and get our neighbors home earlier. The lanes should be in place by October 2008!

I had to schedule 21 appointments on Friday and Saturday to show clients who had two days to choose a home. We picked out all the homes that fit their needs...narrowed it down based on the pictures and locations, then tried to schedule appointments in a reasonable order so as not to waste time. The 18 listings that used appointment services (services designed to do 1 thing...schedule showings) as usual were easy and we got appointments on 17 of them (one was under contract with no showings allowed). Three of the homes had "Call Agent For Appointment" in the MLS. We called and left messages with all three agents. The Katy Sunrise Rotary Club is holding its 5th annual 5K run and 1 mile walk starting at the La Centerra Mall in the master planned community of Cinco Ranch in Katy Texas. The run will benefit the Family to Family Network helping families of children with disabilities. The date for the event is May 17th 2008and will begin promptly at 8:00am for the 1 mile walk and 8:30am for the 5K run. The 5K run will feature ChampionChip timing and is a USATF certified 5K course.
