The Adventure Park at Sandy River Retreat Update: Closed for Winter, Reopens March 22, 2013  We're excited to announce the opening of a new local attraction, The Adventure Park at Sandy River Retreat on June 15,2012. This tree-top adventure park is the first of it's kind in the State of Virginia.  There are 47 obstacles including 11 zip lines, separated into four different course/trails (the easiest suitable for ages 7-9), similar to those found on a ski mountain.
