Rain! And this morning that couldn’t have been more
appropriate because after all it is Seattle, it is spring time, and
indeed the Seattle wind was a blowing and the rain was really
coming down.
I headed out
extra early so I could meet Charlie at the 14 Carrot Café in
Eastlake before 8:00 am, but WRONG!, Interstate 5 was a parking lot
so bailing from the freeway over Beacon Hill, through the
International District, then First Hill, then Capitol Hill and
finally down to Eastlake I arrived about 8:15
Let it
Rain! And it was worth the commute! What an awesome
group this morning and a lot of great conversation over a wonderful
breakfast and coffee. It was fun to catch up with everyone. We
talked about everything under the sun rain.

were both at Inman’s Agent Reboot a couple of weeks ago in Seattle
when I got a tweet from her. “You here?” Yes, row 3,
center. “I’m row 3, left.” I can’t see you. “I can’t
see you either.”
We never
connected in person but the tweets were hilarious and it was a
great event we both enjoyed. Michelle, I loved your stories about
moving up to Seattle and your Mustang convertible! It was great to
see Dan Tabit. We know each other as our paths cross on occasion
and I learned he loves Star Trek, so now we’re even better friends.

Charles and
Paul, great to catch up with you both if only for a few minutes. As
always, it’s a great time and it goes by so darn fast! And a big
shout out to the 14 Carrot Cafe! You always take such great care of
us!

 Waterfront home sales
in the Seattle region bumped up by significant margins in January.
Year-over-year sales of waterfront houses, condos,
houseboats, and floating homes were up 11.1 percent, continuing the
strengthening trend we saw throughout 2012. In the city of
Seattle, the gains were even larger with a 28.6 percent bounce.
There were 40 waterfront homes sold in King
County in January. The highest priced-home was a $3.7
million home on Lake Sammamish, while the
least-expensive was a $103,000 waterfront condo in Rainier Beach.
The top sale for the city of Seattle was a floating home on
Fairview Ave in Eastlake, which sold for
$815,000.

Seattle floating homes inventory has been the story on Lake
Union all through 2012 and continues to be a significant
consideration into 2013.
Currently, there are only 4 Seattle floating
homes for sale - three of which are in the million dollar
plus range. The lowest priced Seattle floating home
for sale right now is priced at $499,000 and in the
Eastlake neighborhood. There are two in Portage Bay for sale
right now and one on the Roanoke Reef dock in
Eastlake. The price on these range from $499,000
for 2331 Fairview Ave E
#C to $1,675,000 for 10 E Roanoke Street # 10 - both listed
by Cooper Jacobs Real Estate Seattle Floating Homes

There are three floating homes pending inspection or pending right
now as well. One is in Portage Bay for just under $500,000,
and two are in Eastlake and priced between $475,000 and $825,000.
Both of these were on the market for under 30 days
demonstrating the demand from current Seattle floating home
prospective buyers.
One Seattle floating home in Roanoke Reef (#3) has closed
in the last 30 days. It was listed for $1,490,000 and sold
for $1,357,000.
Getting it ready for the houseboat
market: One component of a quick sale is proper
preparation. This requires a broker who specializes in not
only floating homes, but innovative and creative
marketing that is unique when compared to other brokers.
