Explore Beautiful Westminster, Colorado

The suburbs of Denver offer so many great things for residents.  Besides the beauty of the Rocky Mountains, there are activities for every person's taste.

One lovely place is Westminster, a northwest suburb of Denver. The promise of gold originally drew people here in 1862, but even back then people knew this might be a good place to settle down with a family.  Westminster actually boasts a castle that was built in 1891 and which is now home to Westminster University, often called the Princeton of the West.  The castle overlooks Denver and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Many of the cities and towns in the area offer trails for biking, hiking, and nature watching.  Westminster has several of these as well as many parks for outdoor enjoyment.  For those who find joy in more modern diversions, there is the Westminster Mall.  And for those who like both the outdoors and shopping, head over to the Orchard Town Center, an outdoor lifestyle center mall.

Just as in the past, residents here use good old-fashioned ingenuity to make life better.  Westminster is home to Bradburn Village, Colorado's first solar-powered neighborhood.
