About Us:
I moved to the Big Bear Valley in 2000 after having to retire from the oil industry. In 2002, after two years of being bored, I got my real estate license with the expectations of going to work for Tim Wood at Coldwell Banker. I knew nothing about the real estate business but knew if I went to work for Tim, I would be successful in this business. Within two years, I was asked to join "The Tim Wood Group" and have worked as a member of the team ever since.
There are many reasons why I work here and won't work for anyone else, but here are just a few. We work as a team instead of individuals. Nothing frustrates me more than calling an office, asking for disclosures, only to be told that they can't get them for me because the agent isn't here. That will never happen here! We are a no nonsense, tell it how it is Real Estate Agency. That mind set has given us the reputation of being the most Professional Real Estate Company in all of Big Bear .

Areas of Expertise
Over the years, our main focus has been on the Lakefront homes and new sub divisions. We have a realtors that are experts in all areas of the Big Bear Valley, from Sugarloaf and Erwin lake, to Castle Glen and Meadowbrook Estates. We have qualified agents to handle your listing, no matter where it is located in the Big Bear valley
Testimonials
I can't help but express my appreciation to Tony Card for his help in the short-sale of my family's cabin in Big Bear. When my wife and I agreed we could no longer afford the mortgage, I called Tony to inquire about his experience selling distressed property, and for a broker's price opinion.
Tony convinced me of his ability to execute on the short-sale and we met the next day for a walk-through of the cabin. Tony arrived with a list of comparable properties to support his opinion of value and we signed the listing agreement within hours.
He then followed up via email with a list of items and documents normally required by my specific loan servicer to approve a short-sale. I interpreted this as Tony saying, "here is a list of things you, as the seller, need to do to complete the sale". This gesture gave me the utmost confidence that Tony would do his job, but that he needed me to do mine.
After the cabin was listed for sale, I checked every website I could "google" to make sure the listing was referenced. The listing appeared everytime. I knew at that point Tony was doing all he could to market the cabin. Note that some of Tony's strengths are his marketing savvy and ability to maximize exposure for each listing.
After the first week on the market, a timely status report arrived via email regarding interest by prospective buyers. Before long we had two offers on the table. Upon acceptance of one of the offers near the list price, he presented the offer to my loan servicer and the short-sale was approved the same day OVER THE PHONE!!
I was expecting the process to drag out for months, but Tony was able to present the servicer with a reasonable and complete offer they just couldn't refuse. Total time between execution of the listing agreement, July 17, 2009, and close of escrow, September 3, 2009, was a little less than seven weeks!
I need to emphasize that Tony's ability to execute in such a challenging market, and to do so with such speed, should be perceived as a testament to his patience and attention to detail. Everything was done right the first time! It was clear from day one that his professional skills and experience are rooted in these traits, which is why he stands out above his peers.
I would glady recommend Tony Card to anyone looking to buy or sell in the Big Bear area in the future. Thank you!!

Hi Tim,
I just wanted to let you know what a gem you have in Tony Card. I've written a testimonial for him regarding our recent purchase.
I investigated Realtors in Big Bear Valley online for over two months before I contacted one, and I chose Tony Card to help us find our dream cabin. From our first contact, Tony knew exactly what we were looking for and didn't waste our time showing us places that didn't meet our requirements, which were many, and included a tight budget.
Thanks to Tony, we now own our dream cabin, "Screaming Viking Lodge" and are loving it! It is more than we ever could have hoped for, and Tony helped guide us through the whole process quite smoothly. It was a foreclosure, and he knew how to manage the purchase. He also was excellent at returning phone calls and emails very quickly. I wish customer service was like this in other areas of my life. Go Tony!

Tony,
You are a good agent to work with Tony.
I believe Coldwell has done you a lot of good.
I always believed any new agent should go to Coldwell because Tim was always
so strict and demanding but that made for good agents.
Thank you for your attention to detail.

Tony,
If I had known what a nightmare this was going to be, I would have found a realtor I didn't like...(Hee, hee)
Thanks for stickin' with us through the mess and for everything else.

Hi Tony,
Kirk told me the good news about the cabin! I know we still have paperwork/stuff to do, but we both thank you for being so kind as to show us cabins on such short notice Sunday. The one that we picked is truly exceptional. Please let the seller know how grateful we are that he is selling it to us, that we clearly understand how much he has loved and cared for it, and that we intend to do the same. Please also let him know that we will pay special attention to nurturing the tree he planted in memory of his wife.
We are enjoying working with you and think of you as our permanent Big Bear realtor!
Diana
Dear Mr. Wood,
I am writing you this email to let you know that one of your agents, Tony Card, has recently represented your office very well (actually, beyond very well)!
My name is Michael Gall and I just closed escrow (as a buyer) with Tony on December 21, 2007 -- just in time for Christmas!!! I live in San Diego, am 45 years old, am single, am a software engineer, own my home, and until recently was just "thinking about" buying a vacation home in the Big Bear area.
On a random Sunday afternoon in October 2007, I called your offices to inquire about a property. Tony Card answered the phone. Within a couple of hours of our phone conversation, not only did Tony research the property (from an MLS and title standpoint), but he also drove out to the property and took some pictures of the exterior for me (two cottages and a shed)! Upon reviewing the information and photos Tony had emailed me, I then had even more questions about the interior of the buildings. Tony contacted the listing agent and was successful in acquiring the combination to the lock box. Tony then drove back out to the property a second time and took interior pictures for me. Due to the large resolution of the digital photos, Tony had to manually reduce the size of each one before emailing them to me. No doubt this was a very time consuming and tedious effort (but Tony gladly did it and found a way to get me the information I needed).
As a result of Tony's unprecedented turnaround (i.e. I had all the information I needed to make a decision on this property within 5 hours from our first phone conversation), I was able to rule this particular property out from my search. However, I didn't rule out Tony -- he absolutely earned my business!
Over the next month and a half, Tony and I worked together (long distance) to find and research dozens of properties for me. No matter how many "properties of interest" I would run past Tony, he would research all of them, provide me the information I needed, and allow me to make an informed decision.
Throughout our approximate six (6) weeks of research, I traveled up to Big Bear 3 to 4 times to view potential properties with Tony. It was on Sunday, December 2, 2007 that we found the house that I now am the proud and excited owner of: 301 West North Shore Drive.
As I mentioned above, being single, owning my primary residence, and buying a "vacation property" on my own in Big Bear didn't exactly leave me the biggest budget to work with. Tony knew that I had limited financial resources and merely was trying to "get my foot in the door" up on the mountain. Tony also knew that I was looking for that "diamond in the rough" (a fixer-upper with a good location and great long-term potential). After looking at about a dozen to 15 homes, we found it!
Throughout this entire process, Tony "allowed me" to do all the research that "I required" in order to get to the point where I was comfortable making an offer on this property (and eventually, accepting the seller's counter-offer).
Tony Card has gone above and beyond any expectations I ever had for what a realtor can do for a perspective buyer (he truly has raised the bar, in my opinion). Words cannot express how delighted I am to have found Tony that one Sunday afternoon in October. If ever a realtor has earned his/her commission, Tony ABSOLUTELY earned his (and then some)!
In an effort to adequately thank Tony for all that he has done for me (and my sweetheart of a girlfriend Shelley), not only am I writing you (his boss) to let you know how AWESOME Tony is, but I've also already referred Tony to a longtime friend (who is also thinking about buying a vacation property in Big Bear)! I know "thank you letters" and small appreciation gifts are nice, but the true way to say "thank you" to a realtor is by giving them referrals! :-)
Having said that, below is the actual unedited email I sent my friend Mike McCaughey several weeks ago. Mike is out of town for the holidays and probably won't begin his Big Bear search until after the new year. But if/when he does, I have no doubt that he will be contacting your office -- specifically, Tony!
Thank you Tim for reading this novel (sorry), but I really feel it is important for you to know just how amazing a realtor Tony Card is. As I stated in my opening sentence, Tony Card has represented your office very well... now you know why!
Sincerely,
Michael J. Gall
