About Terri:

Moving...Again.  That was the family motto.  Since Dad worked for the Air Force, we moved an average of once (sometimes twice) a year.  I guess all the moving primed me for a career in Real Estate.  Actually, I think I was born into Real Estate.  My Grandmother was the first woman Million Dollar Agent in Memphis Tennessee...at a time when the "Million Dollar Club" really meant something... and  my Father was the founder of RE/MAX Greater Atlanta, the number one RE/MAX organization for 22 years in a row.  During my childhood, for 'FUN' we would go to the new subdivisions in Dunwoody and walk through the homes.

Real Estate is a way of Life...and It's a Good Life!

Areas of Expertise

I begain my career in Real Estate in order to serve myself.  Yep, I'm an investor.  I got my license simply so I could get a Lockbox Key!  Then...friends started calling asking for help.  Some were looking for a home for themselves or their parents, others were looking for investments and a couple were selling.   After a while, helping my friends became a full time business.

I have found that there are basically two types of Buyers.  First is the Primary Residences.  Buying a primary residence is an intellectual process and very emotional one too.  My clients range from 1st time home buyers to those who are looking for their retirement home.  Now that can be an emotionally charged situation.   The first time homebuyer is scared to death about taking on that financial responsiblity while the retirement home buyer is looking for the last home they will live in.  Listening.  Really Listening & Hearing.  That's what I do for my clients.  I want to address their fears with accurate information so they can make a decision that is right for them.

The Investor.  Most often Investors buy homes purely on an intellectual level. The purchase is being made based on the expected financial returns.  As it is with every home purchase, Location is Everything!  Investment properties can come from foreclosures (Georgia has one of the highest foreclosure rates in the nation), people in trouble (divorce, medical bills, lose of job), or the new home market.  Due to the slow-down in the new housing market, builders are offering some incredible incetives for buyers.  If you are able to invest in a new subdivision (preconstruction is best), you can enjoy appreciation due to inflation and increased building costs.  It's also nice to have a property that has a builder's warranty!

My goal when working with these clients is to find the home that meets their needs, in the price range specified, and in an area that matches their lifestyle/criteria.
